We stumped upon this little hidden gem on a late Saturday night. Upon entering, a tiny host desk tuck in front of the kitchen, the host directed us upstairs where all the tables, except for one was reserved for a party.
We proceed to order our lamb curry and a goat biryani after seeing all the reviews mention that rice was not included with the entree. It took a little longer than usual for the food to arrive at our table. We were surprise to see a plate of plain steamed biryani rice come onto the table, now we got two rice dishes. They gave us a naan on the house, which was really generous of them. All in all it was too much food for the two of us.
Despite the lagging wait for our food to come, I have to give these guys credit though. With the party going on and all… I am pretty confident in saying that their food seem freshly made when it got to our table. I have been to too many divey Indian restaurants were food is just reheated in the microwave, so this is definitely a nice little bonus.
On our way out, we chatted up with the staff, who were probably waiting on us to leave and close for the night, we were told that they have outdoor seatings also available for parties.
So far so good. Will definitely be back. Great new addition to hillside
Vintage Curry exceeded my expectations and has filled the void Baluchi's closing left when they closed down. Chicken tikka put I was especially good. The vindaloo was excellent, although the spice exceeded my expectations and might have be to much for some. Chicken makhani was sweeter than expected but a good contrast from the vindaloo. Samosas were solid.
Delivery came in the estimated time of an hour. Overall the food was great but on the pricey side.
