Pita Pan

“I won't dock them a star for service, which I find to be acceptable for fast food, or the lovely techno music (honestly, wouldn't be out of place) until I find a gyro in New York that I like better…”

“The fries are just all right — not nearly as good as BZ Grill– but the burger makes it all okay.”

“Really awesome food lots of healthy options always fresh and a big variety to choose from .”

  1. With so many great middle eastern restaurants in Steinway, I do find it hard to believe that Pita Pan has been here as long as I've been in the neighborhood.  There's nothing particularly special about their food and they're definitely more expensive and less tasty as the halal joints literally down the street.  The only redeeming qualities about Pita Pan is the fact that it is clean inside and you're at least eating food that's better than McDonalds.  For me however, I prefer my shawarma with the pickles and garlic paste that adds a nice flavorful kick.

  2. 2 delicious beef sandwiches and 2 chicken sandwiches (boyfriend's order) delivered quickly to me at midnight for about 12 bucks. Had to add a load of my own hot sauce to it because it was quite dry, but once I did that, it really hit the spot.

  3. Pita Pan is Middle Eastern/Greek fast food. You shouldn't expect more then that.

    It's greasy goodness.
I recommend the falafel sandwiches- they put fries in it! And they have those Hershey's pies we all hate to love.

  4. If you want a gyro in Astoria come here!!!!! The chicken skewers are also great. I'm not sure what they marinate the chicken in but it's very yummy. I also like the fried zucchini patties.

  5. Great Service, great prices!  I had the chicken gyro pita.  Comes with red onions and french fries inside, and your choice of sauce- the bomb!!  Everything taste so fresh, the fries are sooo good! Great menu options- salads, gyros, souvlakis, hamburgers.  Many patrons sitting inside.  I used to go to the old location in Bayside until they closed, but I might make the trip to Astoria more often for this location.

  6. Stopped by here with my boyfriend for lunch and we grabbed the chicken gyro with everything on it (fries, red onions and tomatoes)

The gyro was good, but by no means was it worth what it cost. The portion was very small, and one gyro for one person was definitely not filling enough. One gyro from a halal cart usually fills me up and the portion of the gyro here was literally half the size. I'm not sure where they get their pita from but it's not the regular size you're used to seeing. I would stop by here for a snack because the food was decent enough to have again, and maybe try out other things on their menu. Not bad.

  7. I really like the food in this place.
Flavors are really good and the place always seems to be clean. I have never had any problems like other people had mentioned in their reviews.
Also I would like to mention that I haven't eaten there in the last three months, but I used to be a regular.
I loved the fries with herbs and feta cheese, the meat gyros, the pork is also really good and the burger. Falafel al well is pretty good. Their sauces are flavorful.
One thing that I really don't like is that they are really slow for deliveries and sometimes they get confused with the orders or will forget some of your stuff and instead of bring it to you later they will just give you credit for your next purchase.
When ordering there, they don't take that long, I think they waiting time is fair, staff is friendly, never had any bad experience with that either.
I give them three stars because of the weird experiences I've had with deliveries, but food is well seasoned and good.

  8. Pretty decent place to get a quick a pita sandwich on the go. The counter service is ok and there was loud pulsating music in the background that did not go well with my attitude.  I had the pork pita with fries and the pita pan sauce.  It was very good and cheap for about $4.  I recommend this place as a cheap place to get a quick bite to eat.
