“So happy to have a good Indian Restaurant in Alphabet City and the owner/staff couldn't be nicer.”
“I ordered the Chicken Korma wrap with Mint Chutney, the Mango Lassi, and Gulab Jamun, all of which were spot on with the delivery and freshness of ingredients.”
“They served it in a pani puri's puri which was a bummer, since shev puri generally takes a flat, crunchy puri.”

this was a really long wait for what felt like a smallish appetizer and it cost $10. But
I'm giving 4 stars because it wasn't bad at all and theres a lot of potential. Gonna give them the benefit of the doubt and will adjust stars depending on my next visit.
I need more go-to places for a quick delicious kati roll. I love kati rolls and i was a fan of desi shack (RIP), So i was excited to see this place pop up on ave B. Quick savory affordable takeaway is always fun. And the location by Tompkins is great…
But note this place is a very different model than desi shack, where desi shack was fast and generously portioned, this one is slow and smaller portions. desi shack had simple options and assemble in-front of you order system like chipotle – but here the menu is a hundred times more complicated and the food is cooked on a stove, the crew seemed frantic making so many menu items. It was hot in there. although they have seating the lighting and temperature and smell and vibe make taking the food to the park a lot more appealing.
for now i will chalk it up to the fact that when I went they were newly opened and working out some kinks. I look forward to trying more dishes and giving them a chance to strut their stuff.
I was more impressed with their delivery than with their storefront. However, because I had received a $5 off $20 coupon with my delivery, I decided to venture to their Alphabet City location and give it a go.
This is not a full service restaurant. You order your food at the counter and seat yourselves. They may or may not bring you your food depending on the hostess at the counter. You also have to bus your own table after the meal.
I decided to be a little adventurous and stray from my typical chicken tikka masala or chana masala. I ended up getting something that was basically the Indian version of fried rice (Paneer Tikka Biryani). It was good and the portions were decent, but overall the meal was not as satisfying as I thought it would be. Also, actually quite pricy for what it was (cheese, veggies, and rice). Next time I'm going with my gut and sticking with my usuals.
The Kathi rolls here are pretty decent. I've tried a couple of different ones, lamb being my fav. I like the fact that you can add eggs and spinach to the rolls. This is more of a fast food Indian spot. My husband tried the chicken tikka and said it was too creamy compared to other Indian restaurants we've tried.
