  1. This place is pretty good for a pre-flight snack and various periodicals.

    Things to grab

1 – East Coast Potato chips ( Not too much different than anywhere else, but they make cheap gifts to being back).

2 New York newspapers. Seem to be on par with the old World Weekly News and National Enquirer. Great for a few laughs on a long flight. Keep in mind that there are a few scantily clad pictures inside.

  2. Quick serve airport food stand: pre-wrapped sandwiches, yogurt, bottled H2Os, and snacks of all kinds are available at CIBO Express when you don't have time for a sit down meal. They have "healthier options" for those times when you don't want all that fried fast food.

Most of the sandwiches ($7-$10) sound great but are flavorless and super chilled; they'll fill you up but don't expect too much. I've become addicted to the Kind bars ($3) because they're like dessert to me and they have a lot of different flavors to try here, several with chocolate.

There are a lot of fancy and expensive bottled H2O options with weirdly shaped bottles; I'm having an Icelandic Glacial spring water ($3.29/750ml) in an elongated square shaped bottle with a jagged pointy top. It tastes just like any other overpriced bottle of natural spring water – I can't discern the purity of the "legendary Ölfus Spring" but hey it's a cool looking plastic bottle.

You pick your options, pay the cashier, and you are on your way. A word of caution, too many choices will add up to a lot of money. I usually spend about $17 and that's quite high for what you get. It's good that this option is available in a pinch at the airport when needed.
