If you're debating between coming to Angel's Share or PDT, Angel's Share definitely wins. The vibe is great for groups of friends who want to be able to have real conversations while enjoying nice cocktails.
Please make note, there are actually TWO locations, each via the entrance in Japanese restaurants on the same block. I'm not sure what the difference is between the two, but to make the waiting process as short as possible, split your group in half and have each wait in one of the two lines.
The drinks menu is incredibly innovative and seems to change every season, so there is always a reason to come back! I ordered the Quintessence, a drink made from lavender, St. Germaine, grapefruit, and more. If you like the tastes of lavender and ice tea, you will definitely like this drink!
My only qualms about Angel's Share is that you can't customize your drink, and there's no real waiting area. There was a really big crowd standing inside next to the door eagerly waiting for tables. While I am glad that the servers will only let you order a drink once you have actually sat down, I thought that having large crowd linger over me as I enjoyed my drink to be very overwhelming. Therefore, this slightly ruined the secretive speakeasy vibe for me.
While Angel's Share falls short of being the perfect speakeasy, this spot is by far better than most of the more grungy bars in the area, so it's definitely worth the visit!
A bit disappointed I should say, as I had really high expectations once my friend suggested this place to me repetitively. Apparently Angel's share did serve well-made cocktails, however the drink itself simply lacked of uniqueness and I felt like I was just in one of those mediocre bars having some really meh flavored-liquor. I probably would not revisit this place, given I have better choices only steps away.
Two separate locations very close to each other. Larger groups would be redirected to another second-floor and enjoyed bigger tables (and better views). Nothing special.
I'm kind of in love with this place.
I stopped by pretty randomly, and I can see why people would love it on the surface. There was no stand for drinks so it can get full but not crowded. It's dimly lit, a little sexy and very cool. But I didn't know if the drinks were good.
They are.
I had two drinks, I'm sorry I can't remember the names but one was a rye whiskey cocktail and the other the egg white cocktail.
They genuinely tasted amazing. I don't like tasting alcohol in my drinks and I did not. They were smooth, taste and buzz wise.
The location is super cute and cozy, I am looking forward to going in the winter or for a date in general.
I highly recommend checking it out.
Angels share is a bit overhyped for me. Heard about it for 1000 times, and finally made the visit. It has A really nice ambiance – comfy, intimate, and speakeasy. Would have been a great place for a date if the drinks tasted better…. Five of us got different drinks from the menu, and most of them are "meh" to me. The tastes are strong and too exotic that I kept persuading myself trying to finish mine… It seems that it's fair enough to assume the drinks are not for everyone's taste.
I've been to multiple speakeasys in the city and angel's share is by far, one of my favorites. They have a good selection of cocktails that will not overwhelm you with choices. Every cocktail is SUPER delicious. As long as you like the ingredients that went into the drink, you're bound to love it.
I fell in love the serenity that puts verlaine's lychee martini to shame, te quiero sunrise, daybreak, and cheek to cheek. They are all amazing drinks that will really ensure that you have a great night.
This is a very good date spot. Your date will be impressed!
One of the best speakeasy places! It's hidden so it's a bit hard to find…
Came here with a date once. This is a place to go to at least once if you are ever in the city!! It's more of an intimate setting inside..so it's an ideal spot to go with a date or with friends. Drinks are a little expensive which is expected..but definitely worth it!!
They have a very extensive drink menu and unique cocktails…I ordered the Cheek to Cheek drink…and it was quite tasty!
Overall…I had a pleasant experience here and I love trying different cocktails so it was the place for me! I am definitely coming back to try the other drinks.
it's not as hidden as other speakeasys but still great vibes and fun place. I don't drink… But I was still able to enjoy what I got!! It was this line soda with green apple sorbet and MM got this drink with like yogurt and some sort of raspberry flavored alchy drink. I ate all the yogurt from his drink which was GREATTT and finished mine. Super casual place and would love to come back (just for that yogurt)
Very romantic. Great date spot. The drinks were delicious and unique. The "cheek to cheek" was easily one of my favorite cocktails I've ever had at a bar.
