  1. It's a solid, standard mom-pop lunch shop. I had the chicken and bulgogi tacos. Everything was noticeably fresh (especially the avocado) and packed generously. Nine fifty, cash only for a Taco Special: one standard chicken, one bulgogi, and one chicken with cheese and crema. The chicken taco was more traditional, pretty much anything you'd expect from a standard Mexican joint. Bulgogi taco had a slightly chewy toughness, almost like a high end beef jerky. Not as much pieces of fat as I'd expect (it's a good thing to me). It was an above average bulgogi, definitely not the best bulgogi. Third taco I gave to my girlfried and she enjoyed it with a "not bad reaction." Didn't short us on the cheese and crema. The shells weren't anything special. The salsa verde was tart with a spicy kick.

I wouldn't go too far out of my way for it; it's not the absolute best place I'd go for Mexican-Korean BUT it's one of the best places I'd go for a "grab and go" work lunch. Very friendly people and I'd happily be a regular.

Don't sleep on the pastries, either. They have a bo lo bao looking jawn that's actually sweeter, denser, and more buttery. Wasn't bad at all, although I'm sure it's better fresh in the morning!

  2. Co worker took us here one day. Wow what a sh*t hole with crappy storefront and u climb a narrow stair to get to it. Apparently it's a hot spot currently for taco a real hole in the wall. It looks like a tiny convenient store the size of a tiny Manhattan bedroom. Anyways it was an experience coming here but I won't return. The guy taking orders seemed confused and frazzled and the food takes a while to make, the steak taco was honestly very bland and taste like dry Korean bulgogi so I'm not sure what the hype is about. My 3 other colleagues had the same opinion of this place.

  3. I had 3 bulgogi tacos with a fish taco chaser.  They were all pretty good, and the guy behind the bar seemed to have a friendly relationship with his regular lunch crowd.

My only complaint is that this place closes at 3 on weekdays, and the bulgogi tacos are a special, not a regular menu item.

  4. Here's why this gets five stars. Around a random corner in New York a couple blocks from Penn Station. Never would have found it if it weren't on yelp. Up some metal stairs, tiny room and a counter with a few stools by the window. $7.50 for three meaty tacos with cilantro, lime, and a bit of avocado and green and red sauce on the side. Just, absolutely, exactly what I was looking for in the 45 minutes before my train. Might have to come back, just hopefully with a lighter suitcase next time…

  5. Searching for tacos around work and yelp had this with great ratings. It did look a little sketchy from the outside and it's pretty small when you walk in but everyone was really nice.

I was looking at the menu all confused because it wasn't organized well, a lot of covered up prices and writing. I saw on yelp that the fish tacos were $7-$7.50 and when i went the menu said tacos were $9.50 but when i paid it was $8.50 for beef. Super confusing! Also i thought the tacos were pretty expensive for small things that came with only one tortilla. I loved that there was a lime for every taco and there was a avocado slice on each but i've had the same tasting thing for a cheaper price across from my job.

At least I came to try them but too bad I won't be stopping by again.

  6. Best deal in town $8.50 for 3 tacos?

And had a sliced of avocado in each, and didn't charge $1 more for it lol.

Extremely fast service. Lots of food. Fresh cilantro and onions. Tried the beef, and it was good. Not amazing but good. Will come back and try the fish next time!!

  7. MUST TRY: Fish Tacos (set of 3). I think these are the best fish tacos that I've had since a trip to Costa Rica several years ago.

The great thing about these tacos is:

    1) High quantity of fish. You can taste the fish. Kind of important.

    2) Lime, avocado, onions, salsa are all flavourful. None of them are overpowering. They are perfectly complimentary.

    3) Easy to eat
    4) Fast
    5) Filling
    6) Cheap

Almost literally a hole in the wall. The owner and his wife are a good team and work fast to serve everyone in a reasonable time.

I can't wait to try the kimchi / bulgogi tacos

FYI Lunch only. They close at 3pm

  8. Gold Star! Their costumer service is outstanding. The couple that run this little venue make you feel like you are part of the family.  They saw a need for Mexican food for workers in the area and not only did they bring food but they were able to create the warmth of the Latin culture. Ten years later, their Spanish is perfect'O and their friendliness has developed quite a fan list!

Its cash only (always forget) but from their daily, returning costumers they must be doing something right! Personally I think its their friendliness. They make it a point to greet costumers, the returning ones usually chat a little during their lunch breaks before heading off to the daily grind.

Will need to try more of their food soon.
