“I ordered Dolsot Sulungtang (ox-bone soup base with slices of beef and a side of purple rice) and my friend had a Bibimbob.”

“Kimchi pancake was crispy, orange, large, oniony, spicy, shareable but not easily so, yet nostalgic.”

  1. I've always like this place! Not sure why it only has 3.5 stars. Try to go early because there'll easily be a line in the evening around prime time.

This restaurant def moves fast so they'll want you to order asap, eat asap, and pay asap which is why a lot of ppl prob are turned away by it. Beside that, the food is great and the menu has a wide variety of Korean food otherwise than tofu soup. Good for if you want some diversity in your Korean palate.

  2. Come hungry. The food is incredible and the portions are filling. Where do I start? I came with a group of 7 and ordered what seemed like everything on the menu.

Must try– Spicy sliced pork BBQ (Je Yook Gui), Fried clear noodle, vegetable and beef (Jap Che), and Spicy pan-fried rice cake with vegetable, egg and fishcake (Dduck Boki).

The price is average for Korean BBQ. You'll get more bang for your buck if you come with a group. The service could be better. High turnover rate so things were hectic especially during the dinner rush.

  3. We came here as an alternative when Kang Ho Dong down the street was a long wait.  The staff here seated us immediately and the service was very good given how busy they were.  Our server was running all over the place managing at least 5-6 tables on her own but we never waited more than 60 seconds for anything we asked for.

The seafood stew was great and chock full of seafood flavor.  Well balanced and tasty, everyone was happy with that.  The spicy rice cakes were also well received.  As for bbq selections, we ordered kalbi, chicken and pork belly.  The chicken was a bit bland and dry and the pork belly was just so so.  The kalbi was fantastic as to be expected.  On a side note my brother in law got food poisoning but he was the only one so maybe just a bad bite?  Prices are about what you expect in K-Town.  Food was good but not great.  A decent choice if you're in the area but there's a lot to choose from.

  4. I'll upgrading my rating. I came here on a Sunday afternoon when it was not as crowded. The service was much better than when I was here on a Friday evening. I'll come here if it's not during busy times. I ordered the beef Bee Bim bop again, I think that I have had better at other places but not too bad.

  5. Eh….for some reason I find myself coming back here on weekends with a bunch of friends for late night food always after drinking in Ktown…even though the food is just mediocre…nothing outstanding.
We always order the galbi with rice cakes (it's pretty sweet and sometimes the rice cakes aren't that chewy nor soft..)
I've eaten the soondae guk here but I wasn't feeling it….can't explain it but was lacking in flavor?& I've had the soondubu jjigae and budae jjigae here too but nothing memorable…I suggest going to BCD tofu house for better soondubu!
They give us steamed eggs which is for free and it's just okay, not bad.

  6. Food at this place hurt my heart and made kbbq my least desired food so far. We tried the bbq combo 2 with three types of meat but only the beef ribs turned out to be good. We paid around 50 bucks per person but had a very low end eating experience. Seafood pancake had way too much scallion – wide and long scallion leaves that have not been cut made the pancake tasted bad. I will not come back, I swear!

  7. Came with a party of 7 on a Thursday night and with reservations as well.  It's started off as a rather bizarre night.  We were seated in the far back and then we did a game of musical chairs and then we were moved to another table to accommodate our large party.  I came with someone that actually frequents that spot often which made ordering easy. He placed our order while we were standing outside waiting on our table.  When we sat down our food immediately started rolling out to our table. #ThingsThatILove

Alot of our starters were pickled vegetables and my favorite out of all of them was the pickled radishes.  We then had scallion pancakes as another started along with the glass noodles.  The glass noodles were popular among the entire table and did not last long.  The also served us the spicy tofu soup which as amazing!!!!!!!!  The host for the dinner ordered alot of the BBQ meat and my favorite hands down had to be the spicy pork.  Less than a week later and I am still dreaming about and trying to find a way to get back to K-Town.  We had so much food that evening I am sure I am leaving out have of what we ate.

We indulged in Sake while we were there as well which came in a bottle.  I have had Sake several times in life but after having the one they served in the bottle…I REALIZED I BEEN DRINKING WEAK SAKE ALL MY LIFE!!!  I also tried Watermelon Sake which I didn't even know was a thing.  It was tasty but super sweet and kind of reminded me of Kool-Aid. LOL

Overall my experience was awesome and I plan on going back soon!

  8. Came here with my girlfriend the other night because we were craving Korean food.

Pros: Service is fast, we got seated as soon as we walked in (granted we didn't do BBQ, just regular dining). Pricing is alright, not expensive but not cheap.

Cons: Food quality was okay. The spicy pork do boki was dry and came with a lot of rice and not a lot of meat. I would absolutely stay away from the peach soju here, it tastes like Robitussin, unless you like that… The shu mai we ordered did not taste good.

We didn't have a terrible time, just wished the our dishes didn't taste so dry and had more meat in it. Don't think this place will be my top choice next time I'm in K-town but I'll keep my eyes open and may come back to try some other dishes again.
