Heads up, this is not a your typical Korean restaurant, it's more like a Korean noodle house. They only serve 2 side dishes or kimchi and one other item. However, their food is vey delicious. Their pajun is one of the best. It's very crispy – kind of deep fried in the skillet they serve it in and huge. We shared the pajun among 4 people and got half full.
For the first time in my life, I've tried tried a Korean soup noodle dish. It was really good. I got the seafood tofu noodle soup with handmade Korean noodles. The noodles were very tender and chewy and the tofu in the soup made it extra yummy like a Korean tofu stew. This spot is kind of a hole in the wall restaurant and you should definitely give it a try. You'll be surprised.
The best noodles in queens! This is my second time here this month, had to come back not only because I wanted to finish filming my vlog for this place but I really really enjoy the food here. The first time here, I tried the fried dumplings as my appetizer and the thinner noodles with the beef. The second time we ordered the seafood pancakes and with the wide noodles with seafood. The fried dumplings were cook to perfection and the pancakes were just like how everyone here agreed they would be…it's the best! I could probably eat the whole thing. As for the noodles, some of the best noodles I've ever had. It's like eating soondubu with noodles, which is my favorite! I did like the thinner noodles better though, I thought the wide noodles were cut a little too thick for my liking. But everything is perfect. Also, the servers are amazing and nice as well!
BEST Korean noodles in all of queens! Also for the first time, the menu said mild and it was actually mild. I've been tricked before. Korean mild is equivalent to extremely spicy for normal people but this restaurant gives you a mild noodle soup that you can enjoy and taste with out losing feeling in your tongue or drink a gallon of water.
But really, this place is cooking up some really really good food. The noodle soup here is amazing. A huge portion and huge flavor. I got the mild noodle soup with clams and opted for the flat noodles. Chewy and firm everything as noodle should be. Too many clams to count and a broth that was just perfect.
Noodles are the only thing that's good here, they serve the best seafood pancake. If you think all Korean seafood pancakes taste the same then you need to come here. The pancake here is probably the best in NYC but it's a well kept secret. Reminiscent of takoyaki, they bring the same style to make a super crunchy crusted chewy seafood pancakes topped with teriyaki sauce and bonito flakes. If you come here and can't decide on what to eat just order the seafood pancake you will NOT be disappointed. And of course order some noodles.
The staff is also very sweet. It's a small shop and they care about customer satisfaction
Best noodles and pancake ever!
If you want to taste mama Kim's Korean food, then this is the place to go. You can tell it's authentic cause the TV has no subtitles, its all Korean. Nonetheless, don't be scared, they speak English.
We came here to celebrate my girlfriends birthday and ordered the seafood pancake (pajun) and it was the best seafood pancake we have ever had. Packed full of seafood and crunchy unlike others which are usually soggy from all the grease. It's also quite a hefty servings size.
I had the bulgogi tofu sujebi for my main course and it was the best decision I made that night. These are the best noodles and broth I have ever had, I'm salivating while typing this review. My girlfriend had the clam kalguksu which was also very yummy and warm. I can't wait to come back for some more.
This place has the best pajun ever. Their kalgooksoo is really good too!
I came here around 2pm for lunch. There was plenty of street parking which is a plus.
I've never heard of this place nor been to but my goodness I am so glad I finally tried this gem. It's a bit on the small side but oh boy it is delicious.
They are known for their okonomiyaki pajun. AND IT IS DELICIOUS. It's pajun + the flakey things on top. But they tingle my tastebuds like no other pajun had.
I had the spicy clam kalgooksoo which was warm and delicious on a cold day. I came with a friend, and we were full having shared a kalgooksoo and the pajun. It is a big serving of food.
I can't wait to come back. Must get the pajun if you go!
THE BEST SEAFOOD PANCAKE IN QUEENS by a land slide. I've been to a series of Korean restaurants that serve the same dishes but this one blows every other place out of the park. They are not located on Main St or Northern Blvd but actually located by the cemetery by 164th street. The restaurant has a very simple set up with about 20 chairs. We ordered their seafood pancake with flakes on top, fried dumpling, seafood pulled noodle soup, pork tofu bowl spicy and beef tofu bowl spicy. All were amazing! Cant wait to go back!
An unassuming establishment with some tasty offerings of noodles and pancakes.
Dae Sung's soup noodles have an undeniably authentic flavor. Not only are there a dozen different noodles to choose from, but they come in huuuge bowls that are perfect for sharing. They also make a variety of pancakes, including some that are topped with bonito flakes. I don't know why I never thought to put two and two together before visiting Dae Sung, but the bonito-topped pancakes are a heavenly mashup between okonomiyaki and korean pajeon. Yum!
I've been here at least once a month and plan to keep the trend going 🙂 totally recommend this place.
Nice, cozy place.
The seafood pancake was pretty yummy. It was like a crispy pizza.
I got their spicy seafood noodle, which I don't recommend. It wasn't the original Korean spicy which is supposed to give you that nice, slow burn. It was more of that cheapskate kind that just stings for a bit and then goes away. Like someone just threw a bunch of pepper flakes into the soup and called it a day.
It was a shame, because the noodles were on point and they give you lots of seafood. I'd still come back here to try the other noodles sans the spiciness.
