Lanora Mashburn
I recently stopped here because I was starving on my way to LGA airport. As most Indian restaurants are very veg friendly, I was disappointed that they had so few vegetarian options, but the ones they did have were tasty. The potatoes and spinach combo was my favorite but the okra and lentils were also decent. The food came quickly and was dirt cheap so I'd go again in a pinch.
I went to Starlight Grill for the first time yesterday. It's not the best Indian food I've ever had, but the neighborhood does not have so many decent options. So they're actually the best in the area!
The price is right. You can have a lot of food for just $7.00 or so. They don't have as many vegetarian options as I would have hoped, but they have just enough for me. I like the spinach and potatoes, and chickpeas, with vegetable biryani. And you get a big ole pitcher of water.
They have four parking spaces which is great if you're lucky enough to have one available.
My biggest complaint about this place is that they use a microwave. Come on! I think I would much rather eat it cold.
The atmosphere isn't really posh, but it has a charming divey vibe to it. Also, they don't seem to have air conditioning so it can get a little hot. I feel bad that the employees have to be in that situation all day.
Despite that however, the service is very good, and quick. Very nice people. Give Starlight Grill a try!
