This is a 3.5 rounded up primarily for the FOOD. The atmosphere is absolutely lacking, with plastic covered tables, fluorescent lighting, a tv blaring in the background. The service is not particularly good, and it takes ages for food to get made. But it's the food that is totally worth checking out.
Had both the lula and salmon kebabs — not too plentiful, expect your orders to have just one kebab each (though a fairly good portion on each skewer), so order more than one if that is your entree (they're about $5 each). However, the taste on both are phenomenal, and both are highly recommended.
Then there are all these foods with names I don't know – manty, sukesh, samsa, etc. Maybe I'm remembering them wrong, but what they actually are are crispy hot pockets and dumplings. All worth checking out too.
The radish salad with meat and egg, covered with a mayo sauce, was interesting, but not really a favorite. It was the babaganouj that blew us all away, however. The grilled flavor of the eggplant was so aromatic and comforting — it doesn't come served with bread, which must be ordered separately, but you really can just eat it by the spoonful. Do NOT fail to order this!
That the food just tastes so homemade and genuine is worth every star!
PS – the costs don't run too high. The 4 of us dined for $35, not including tip.
PPS – what is up with the "national dishes" for 10?? Bring lots of friends so you can try these.
