The bartenders here are so amazing! They are friendly. They make sure they serve everyone quickly when it is packed. They make mean drinks. They know how to pour beer properly.
I love that they have a pool table in the back.
The only time I haven't liked it here is because of the crowd. That's not the fault of the bar staff.
This a big size divy bar to go with a big group of friends to play some pool, shot some hoops with the basketball game in the back and drink cheap beer! I'll be back here without a doubt
Great neighborhood spot. Important to know that they DO NOT SERVE FOOD. But they give out endless free bags of potato chips (bbq and regular) for the drunken munchies. they have an basketball hoops arcade game in the back, along with a pool table, darts, and some board games lying around the bar. Any bar with games is a bar I give a big thumbs up to. Always a good crowd, and nice bartenders.
Great casual bar with pool, darts and my favorite – bar basketball! That's what brings me here for drinks occasionally- impossible to find this amazing fun bar game in the city. Hoops! 😀
Walter is the reason Ryan's Daughter gets 5 stars! He's the best, friendliest, coolest bartender I have ever encountered! His hats are awesome.
The bar itself is 4 stars.
-board games
-pool
-basketball (like the ones from arcades)
-darts
-free chips
-cheap drinks
Bar runs long, and there's an upstairs with comfy couches.
Another perk, NYCFC employees and players come here after all their games.
Been here a couple times because I'm friends with some girls who enjoy flirting with the bartenders. Apparently if you're female and hot enough you can score some free chips.
However, if you don't want to thot it out for salty snacks or have a penis, the bartenders are generally cool and the drinks are cheap. Also the hoops machine and pool table make it a fun spot that is rarely frequented by the typical basic masses that inhabit the UES.
Go here.
It was loud and crowded, but it was also a a Saturday night.
Pool and basketball, cheap drinks, free potato chips (Utz- my absolute favorite), and a very low minimum on cards (two drinks, so $10 or $12).
The bathroom was DISGUSTING. One stall was full of diarrhea and menstrual blood, and the other had a girl vomiting in. It smelled so bad in there, and I couldn't pee! There were so many other girls waiting on line and none of us could go. I ended up telling the bartender, and, to my surprise- THEY CLEANED IT!!! That earned them an extra star, because most bartenders couldn't even be bothered for things like that.
Douchebag dudes hogging the pool table, but whatever. I'd go back. I like it.
A great neighborhood establishment.
This Irish bar has been operating in the same location since the late 1970's, which is very impressive by the standards of an ever-changing NYC. I was told by a family friend, who was a patron for over 15 years, to come here for the first time about 5 years ago. All it took was one outing to keep me coming back.
The ambience is casual and welcoming. The bartenders consistently provide quality service, including solid pours, friendly conversations, and good jokes. They know how to keep their customers happy, and that makes for a great atmosphere. I mean, how could you be upset when you are provided complimentary bags of UTZ chips?
The bar setup is great. Downstairs features a large bar, seating areas, televisions, pool table, darts, and Hoop Fever. Upstairs is a more intimate setting with a smaller bar, lounge seating, a fireplace, and a big screen television. The upstairs is open to the public on occasion, but they also hold private events in this area.
Perhaps my favorite part about this place is they are active in the local community. They host a myriad of events, including "Movember" fundraising, a farewell party for Lorenzo's (longstanding shoe repair business), and a "Stoop to Nuts" show in the month of November alone!
I highly recommend coming here for a casual drink or one of their events.
