  1. Located in the central area of Koreatown and downstairs, this is a spot I would definitely check out during happy hour for the discounted drinks and chicken wings.  Once you go downstairs, what you may notice is that depending on your cellphone service, you may have low or no signal.  People who rely too much on their phone beware!

Anyways, many of the Korean dishes I've had were average at best.  The peanut flavored fried chicken is pretty good as it does have a sweet taste to it, along with their seafood pancakes.  I thought some other food I have had here was just okay, as dishes like the Kimchi Fried Rice was nothing special, and I was not a fan of their mussels.

However, if you are looking to get some soju, my favorite ones here were lychee, watermelon, and yogurt.  I would definitely recommend just coming here for their happy hour for discounted prices to get the best experience and money's worth.  Service here can be spotty at times depending on the night, so just make sure you keep them attentive to your table!

  2. Great place to drop by after karaoke.

Space – Dimly lit late night vibes. Also, women's restroom only has two stalls so plan accordingly.

Watermelon soju – Compared to the watermelon soju at Pocha, this felt a little watered down. Nonetheless it was pretty good, and I enjoyed how it was served in tin bowls (note: have your IDs handy).

Omelette – Doused in mayo and ketchup, and overflowing with cheese, but in a good way.

Service – A little slow considering how there weren't that many people in the restaurant. This could've been a four-star but they made the fatal error of forgetting water for the table.

  3. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try a place that calls itself K Town within K Town – it should be the K Town rep right? Wrong. This place isn't all that great. It's like a slightly pricier ShikGaek.

We already had dinner and were bar hopping. We came down here since I hadn't been before, and … since we sat at a table (only option like any other Korean hofs), we ordered the mussels broth to share. O M G. DO NOT EVER ORDER THAT. In fact, stay away from shell broths, period. I WAS EATING SAND… I felt like I landed face first in a dirty beach… and I was still grinding some sand until we got home and engaged in some serious teeth brushing sessions. VERY UPSETTING.

I told the waiter that the mussels was all sand – he said "… they're all like that." REALLY. I beg to differ. WHO THE HELL WOULD EVER EAT THAT THEN? I don't have a sand pouch reserved for crappy mussels. Anyway, he then offered to replace it with clams. We got that.. that was slightly better, but still had some sand in it. Koreans order broth/soup to compliment soju. That was totally unnecessary and we should've just ordered some chicken instead (but were totally stuffed to the brim already).

The watermelon soju was super duper sweet as expected – I also always wonder how much soju they put in there.. Instead of asking that question, I asked for another bottle and poured a whole cham bottle in there. Still didn't taste the soju – AWESOME. Left unbuzzed, somewhat phased, and with a crunchy mouth.

It's still a good spot for chilling with some friends on the DL. Down to earth place for some cocktail soju.

  4. Always a spot I hit up anytime I'm in K-town.
Staff knows the crew and food never fails to amaze.
Consistency really keeps me from moving my business to other bars.

Their beer towers and sojus help make the night smooth. Everything taste great so you dont need to worry about having nasty tasting hard liquor to get woozy!

Ambiance is definitely very modernity-korea themed
It is in the basement and spacing is relatively big!

Recommend their wings and fries/fries with cheese!
I've got to say that sometimes this is my pregame-turnup-passout location because its just that good.
    Their happy hour from
4-9 offers great food deals (especially wings)
they also have a special happy hour on alcohol from 11pm-2am. Now isn't happy hour at that time just music to your ears?!

ALSO** if you come to pay with cash, you get more discounted on the total bill!

  5. Good place to go eat and drink with buddies whenever. Pretty fun atmosphere with the lights, noise level, and music.

The fried chicken was nothing special. Got the mild soy and it was whatever. We also got a kimchi and pork dish but there was almost no meat in there, it was mostly just kimchi. Very misleading photo on the menu.

We also got regular soju, yogurt soju, and some beer. The flavored soju was pretty good! I would come here for either the lychee or yogurt soju.

Came around 9 or 10 on a Thursday and we got seated immediately. Kinda on the more expensive side but what else can you expect in ktown.

  6. Not as great in terms of taste for the korean fried chicken when compared to other places. They fry the chicken very differently here. But everything is priced really low. And the watermelon soju is pretty good. Good place for happy hours with friends.

  7. Hands down my favorite place to go to for soju (especially for first timers- yogurt soju is my favorite here)! Affordable prices for NYC especially during happy hour. Their wings are clutch as well. I've been here multiple times with either one person or a group and always had a blast! Staff understand if you/friends don't speak Korean.

Note: place is literally a hole in a wall and in a basement, but don't let the adventurous entrance fool you!

  8. The wings are pretty tasty and juicy here.
Esp good during happy hours where they have 3 dollars beer, an $1 wing.

I believe the happy hours are between 6-9pm.

The hot and the mild soy tasted pretty similar and not as much contrast as the turntable chicken jazz.

Their wings are much juicier compared to turntable chicken jazz, but drums are much dryer and a tad over cooked.
