This is another location of the Korean style Chinese eatery in Flushing. Menu is the same along with the prices but in a cleaner and larger location. Best dishes are the sweet and sour chicken, beef in sour garlic and any bowl of noodles on the menu. Come here if Flushing parking and traffic creep you out.
The seafood jjampong was your typical jjampong. I figured it'd have more seafood and taste but nothing memorable. The service was lacking despite the smaller amount of tables being served. Do not come in with high expectations.
Pretty much the only well-rounded "good" Korean Chinese food place (think American Chinese food except it's geared toward Koreans) in… perhaps all of Queens.
The pros:
The standard jjajangmyun & jjamppong are excellent here. So is their tangsuyuk & kangpoonggi. Most people LOVE the pickled jalapeno peppers they have here. The candied fried corn/dough dessert is a nice finish as well. Their service is normally impeccable which is a refreshing change from most Korean Chinese places.
The cons:
You get what you pay for. This place is around 1-2 dollar more expensive per item compared to other Korean Chinese places. Speaking of getting what you pay, sometimes you don't. It's rare but there have been times when I came with a group of friends and they had a BAD BATCH for their foods. You have been warned.
Someone mentioned that they pulled their own noodles but most Korean Chinese places already do that. It saves a lot of money in the long-run. However, if they were referring to hand pulling, they certainly do not do that.
Try it out if you're craving Korean Chinese. It's certainly not going to be worse than the other choices you have in the area.
Beautifully decorated restaurant! But the original Chinese House still has the number one spot in my heart.
I love their concept but… I don't like looking at McDonald's or the parking lot when I eat…
Anyways! Jjajjangmyun is awesome as usual and so are their entrees. I think I've pretty much tried everything on their menu.
I brought my boyfriend and his friend (nonkorean guys) here and they weren't jerks like how most Korean waitstaff can be. They were nice.
I strongly recommend that you come here and eat everything here. I believe that their noodles are hand tossed as well.
