I had the Yucca for appetizer and I didn't think it was very special. I like how it was fried but not oily at all. It was the right amount of salt used so it was good. (***)
The place was very small, they have limited seats. Service was good. They gave us what we need and left us alone. (***)
The portion was on the bigger side so I shared with 2 other friends. We had the Brazilian Style Pork Chops and the Chicken Risotto Brazilian Style. The pork chop was a bit dry. I recommend using the bean and the sauce. Veg on the side taste really good and I'm not a big fan of beans, but the beans did take pretty good. The yellow rice was a bit dry which also comes with the meal. The chicken Risotto was very soggy I thought. I think they use too much water when cooking the rice. (**)
I love this place. I come to New York a couple times a year, and try to eat at this restaurant at least once each time. Like everyone else has said, the cheese balls are delicious, but the main courses are also excellent. I love the chicken and rice dish with fried plantains on the side. Everything is very tasty. The service is very good as well. The only downside is that the place is truly tiny, so if it's a busy day/night, you may feel a little claustrophobic. Prices are reasonable and the vibe is totally authentic. Highly recommended!
