Han’ Sang Restaurant
“This place is the new Kwon family favorite – the food and banchan is fresh (NO MSG up in this joint) and made with TLC.”
“That is, most dakdoritang is just that – chicken stew that is naturally immersed in (spicy) chicken broth.”
“The banchan is great ~ they're trying a bit harder than other Fort Lee Korean restaurants, and it comes through in their food.”

I have tried a lunch and had grilled eel topped rice bowl. With the price it tasted alright, but thought there were too few pieces of eels in my opinion. I think it is one of the average Korean restaurants you can find easily in Fort Lee, Palisades Park area.
Omg this place has the best soon do boo ever
Good, but not great. The food here is probably better than I think it is, but I've been spoiled by all the really good korean restaurants in this area.
The Bad:
-1 star since our first choice was sold out, and then our second choice was also unavailable. Who runs out of Sundae? (korean, not the ice cream)
-1 star for sub optimal kalbi. The marinade was good, but it just wasn't cooked quite right. I can't articulate well what exactly was wrong with it, but there was something off about the meat.
The Good:
The fish stew we ordered was very good. Lots of fish in a nice hot and spicy broth.
To apologize for not having the items we wanted to order, they brought us some free onion pancake thing. I forgot the name, but it was delicious. + 1 star. Good customer service is always a plus.
All in all, not bad, but as I said before also not great. I felt it was also a little pricey especially for the quality of food.
I came here for dinner with my Boo Boo on a Thursday night.
Parking is kinda weird on a busy road so I parked near the A&P liquor store.
We ordered the seafood stew/soup to share. The entree is meant to be shared. It's over $35 so more power to you if you can eat the mountain of food. There was a huge octopus that our serve cut up for us before we started eating. There was also shrimp (head on), clams (with shell) and a milded flavored fish with bones.
The banchan that accompanied our meal was a fresly prepared scallion pancake, sesame plant, stewed eggplant, cucumber kimchi and a couple of other stuff I dont remember.
CC accepted. And it's BYBO!!! I will come back with others.
Holler at your boy. I'd come through wit chu.
I can't say enough great things about this place. One of my fave spots for lunch!
Authentic, solid Korean food, tons of fresh & well balanced banchans, and MSG free. Need I say more? This place has the best banchans out of all the Korean spots in this area. You can tell each dish was made with love & care. The flavors are extremely well balanced, and not like those typical banchans you get. You might even come across a few items you've never tried before, if you are not a seasoned Korean foodie.
I especially love their spicy chicken & clam stew and gamja tang. The hot stone bulgogi soup is delish. Pretty much everything on the menu is on point. Boodae stew is good, but they use cold cuts & no spam… Hence the one star off! Spam & sausage is key!
One caveat, food takes awhile to come out, esp during the lunch rush.
BYOB!
Delicious food with plenty of yummy side dishes. The sides are quite different from other restaurants as well. I had the mackerel kimichi stew and it was amazing! It came with sticky red rice which is more healthy than white rice. It's a bit pricey, but well worth it. Some dishes might even be enough for 2 people.
Stopped here for lunch around 3 pm with my fiancé after running some errands on a snowy day.
Probably due to the fact that it was after lunchtime and also snowing out, we were the only people there besides the staff.
I ordered the buddae jiggae and my fiancé had the donkatsu. We ended up sharing because there was so much food. The banchans were plentiful and of good variety. Everything looked homemade. The donkatsu came with enough for two people to share at $14.99. The buddae jiggae was a bit on the pricier side at $12.99 (in comparison to other Korean places in town) but worth the money. It wasn't too salty or tasted of MSG. It had a variety of veggies and sausages.
Service at Korean restaurants aren't exactly what you'd expect at American restaurants. I had to ask for more water and also for the check but overall, we really enjoyed our lunch and would recommend this place for some solid and tasty Korean food. Ambiance is nice and the restaurant was very clean overall.
Rarely give five stars to another Korean spot around this area. But DAMN.
Their side dish game is so strong. I feel like I was eating dinner at my grandmas place. It wasn't the typical side dishes. Heck some of them I had no idea what I was eating but that made me eat more of it!
We order the chicken kimchi stew. Split it between two people and thank god we did or we wouldn't have enjoyed the side dishes as much. The stew was fantastic. I love chicken potato stew.. Very similar but swapping out the potato for kimchi. The style of their cooking is very old "shigol" style aka farmer style. How people in the older Korean generation would cook. Which is awesome to find. No other Korean spot around here gives you that vibe. Some entrees on the menu were a shock because they were combinations of things my grandma would make for me. I'm definitely coming back to try those dishes.
– NO msg comments; I'm not sure if this is true. I didn't ask. But I hope it is true. Although it would stop me from coming back. 🙂
The rice that comes with it is the purple multigrain rice ! Usually you have to ask restaurant for it. But that's what they serve straight out! Awesome.
Service was okay. They seemed upset cause we only ordered one dish to split. They were trying to up sell me. But I guess that's what I would do to if I owned a restaurant.
Recommend it to anyone who is craving that "grandmas dinner table" meal !
