  1. The ambiance here is great. Lively, but cozy. Always seems to be crowded when walking by, however we were seated immediately (around 730 on a tuesday). The wine list was relatively extensive and had many options for wine by the glass which is a huge plus.

The menu is fitting of the typical 'wine bar' fare that you see at these types of places. We split the meatball slider app then each got a pizza. The food was fine, but not much more. The meatball sliders were probably the highlight. As for the pizza, the sauce was a little bland and the cheese was slim even for a margherita style pie. Seemed a little bit stuck between a thin crust, and the softer coal oven style crust. Overall not a bad pizza, however certainly not a stand out.

All in all, the only reason for 3 stars instead of 4 is the price. A meal and wine will run about $40/person which is far from super expensive, however for the price I would expect the food to be a little better. The service was adequate, however we did have to spend a minute or two flagging down our waiter for the check.

Will be going back, just maybe for wine and some apps next time.

  2. This is a cool little wine bar hidden away in midtown east.  The wine selection is excellent and the staff are friendly and helpful.  The food is simple and is decent, but it is a little pricey, I found the tomato sauce a little acidic for my liking (and it's in everything)  But if you are looking for a quiet place to have a drink, catch up and nibble on some food I would say check it out!

  3. just went last night and am already excited to go back. great atmosphere for a date or outing with friends. service was spot on and super friendly. oh and the pizza? RIDICULOUS. highly recommend.

  4. I loved this place!!!!!

My friend that I was staying with in New York and I decided to go on a mid-town East wine bar crawl of our own creation, and this was our second stop! The guys were so friendly to us!

I had just had a PhD phone interview that had gone fairly well, and my friend took me out to celebrate! She told the two guys this fact and they couldn't have treated us any better.

Great wine, we ordered a bottle of rose prosecco and it was on point. Prices were pretty steep but hey, it's New York. Right in line with what you might expect for an upscale Manhattan wine bar.

Didn't get a chance to try the food but would definitely be back!

  5. I was disappointed in this place.  Food was fine, but not as good as similar places and was more expensive.   Pizza with buffalo mozzarella was more expensive than the margarita pizza but tasted virtually the same.  I expected a lot better for the prices.

There's a nice atmosphere here – intimate and cozy – but it's quite cramped.  Always seems to be crowed so expect a little wait.

  6. This is a neighborhood gem. It's a charming unique wine bar with an excellent selection of wines and little plates. They have my favorite Lambrusco wine here. The meat and cheese plates are a nice size for sharing. The back garden area that is open in warmer weather is romantic and lovely.

  7. Great wine bar in midtown east! Really nice warm, cozy ambiance and a great selection of wines.
We came in here for a couple of drinks after dinner on a Saturday evening. The place was not too crowded and we got a table for four with no wait. The menu lists wines by type and characteristics so you can easily pick the kind of wine you like even if you don't know the difference between a Malbec and a Merlot. The service was really nice, our waiter was helpful and friendly and gave some great suggestions regarding the wines. All his recommendations were spot on, and we really liked every glass of wine that we got. A couple more friends joined us as the night progressed and the server seated them graciously with no issues at all.
The ambiance is warm and intimate, with exposed brick and wood everywhere. Very charming and would be a great setting for a date!
We didn't try the food here but they do have a decently sized menu if you'd like a bite to eat as well.
    Would return here for sure!

  8. Be prepared to spend a few bucks or thirty per person. We came during a Friday night and was told that if we sat at a dinner table then we'd have to order food.

Ok – no problem. However, after being seated, and ordered drinks, we were told it was a dish per person. Their pizzas are large enough to share for two – so we refused to order two $18 pizzas and we weren't hungry to begin with…

The two glasses of wine are large, ranging from $11-20 each. Very dim and loud inside, everyone's seated. About 10 seats at the bar. Little space between each table.
