  1. The Spanish community has a definate zest for life.
In what what other ethnic neighborhoods can you find the flair and vigor can you walk into any bakery in the wee hours of the morning—and the place is rockin' with music, laughs and  miscellaneous buzz?
Four small Sony bookshelf speakers were cranking out the Columbian tunes while the two TV's were broadcasting with volume, the morning talk show hotties performing interviews. As a non bilingual, I'm not sure what their discussions entailed, but it really didn't matter, it's the women's looks that kept my eyes glued.  Yowser…

Bright yellow lush green painted walls, that would typically be troubling at this time of day yet when incorporating cute wall appointments, the casual and hospitable South American charm comes rushing right off the walls and  through your soul.

For my Desayuno, I chose the Calentado Con Huevos O Chorizo. Mixed rice and beans with scrambled eggs with sausage was all I could handle. The flavors mixed together with the chorizo was just delightful to taste and rivals any breakfast needed to fill up a hungry guy.
So good in fact that even though I tipped a dollar on my to go meal my $20.00 was changed into a $10.00 even though the menu clearly states $5.50.

  2. Colombian empanadas and pan de Bono with Colombian cafe con Leche . These are things I grew up eating being from queens . I needed to bring some empanadas for my friend who happens to be Colombian. This place was close to me so I decided to go back here once again to try the empanadas . My first visit here a few months ago was not memorable . The empanada was eh back then and they have a different thicker green hot sauce for the empanadas  which I didn't like. I prefer the vinegar based hot sauces . But I really needed to get these empanadas so here I was again . First off , I had the coffee and Pan de Bono while I was there waiting for the empanadas . The pan de Bono was very buttery and the coffee was tasteless . Very disappointing . My husband and I tried some other pastries one which cheese inside and they were alright nothing fancy . But I don't think this is the best pan de Bono I've had . I prefer them to taste fresh and not this greasy . The empanadas were way better this time around but that green sauce . I cannot seem to get used to it . I'm not sure if these people are from a different part of Colombia but I'm just not a fan of that sauce . I may stick to the bakery closer to me that has this sauce . Overall it's an ok bakery . Only one lady was semi helpful . She tried to give me a hard time about using the Yelp discount but eventually gave it to me after asking her boss . Why have a coupon on Yelp and you won't honor it ?
I'm still on my quest for a better Colombian bakery around Jamaica ave !
