Frankly I'm really surprised by the 4.5 star average. Ordered take out one night after a long day of errands. The vegetable noodle soup was pretty disappointing- I may as well have just dropped some instant ramen into a pot of boiling water with some frozen carrots and cabbage. The teriyaki tofu also was not at all what I was expecting. Instead of the tofu being slightly crispy, the tofu seemed like it had been covered in a thin layer of flour and poached– resulting in a gelatin like layer around the tofu. Not a good consistency for teriyaki sauce. The wait was also longer than expected- in part because they initially gave me the wrong item. Maybe the sushi is better here. But Inaka is definitely not the place to go for noodles or Japanese comfort food.
Cute atmosphere with attentive friendly staff
….love that the sushi chefs utilize shitaki mushroom in their rolls-gives them a meaty feel/taste. The calamari roll and sweet potato rolls were deeelishusss !!!
I get delivery on Seamless and had never had a problem. I usually get the Fire Dragon Roll made with brown rice and get the Spicy Mayo. Never a disappointment, prepared well, always craving for more. I'll have to start changing it up and try other things on the menu.
I do takeout here about once a month.
Something about it just isn't as good as it was when they first opened, but it's still the best sushi option in the area.
I always opt for the bento box combo for dinner with the miso black cod and the crabcake, brown rice, double salad (no miso soup, I'm not a fan)… $19 and change.
Th cali roll is good (as good as a cali roll can get, let's be real, there are better rolls).
The miso black cod is still amazing, but the portions seem to be getting smaller and smaller (which is a shame, since it's already an item that comes in a tiny portion by default).
The brown rice is almost always dry, but they use a nice, nutty variety of brown rice, which is a plus.
enjoyed the sweet shrimp and the Uni, special rolls were decent, but needed a bit more flavor in some of them, especially the spicy tuna roll.
Good food at great prices sums up Inaka Asian Cuisine Restaurant. When I arrived there, it was quiet and relaxing….it remained that way for the rest of my dining experience and I was grateful. There is nothing like having a dinner which was a nice way to end my day off from work. Chicken with Soba Noodles is fantastic! I had a glass of Pinto Grigio for just $5.50! The food was cooked well and tasted wonderful.
Lately the staff has taken to eating their meals during regular service hours instead of the period they're closed between dining shifts. This makes me think they think of themselves more as a takeout / delivery place than a restaurant, which in my experience means slipping standards. I'm going back to Taro with its endless loop of Astrid Gilberto's jazz standards. "Fly me to the moon… "
Wonderful place. Relatively inexpensive. The rolls are large and packed with fresh fish. My go to sushi spot in the neighborhood.
