I ordered delivery here the other day using grubhub and I must say I was very disappointed I really like Indian food and ordered for me and my wife. I thought I ordered chicken tikki masala and another dish that I can't remember the name of along with chicken shouraba soup and garlic naan. The only thing that tasted good was the garlic naan. The soup very small pieces of bones and spices that I could feel grinding when I bit into the chicken pieces. The consistency of the soup was not good. I actually decided to call grubhub and complain they told me they would contact the business and the owner Ibrahim called me back. I told him I ordered chicken tikki masala and it didn't taste anything like it. He said noooo you ordered chicken tikka masala. I said you know what I will give a benefit of the doubt he said he would send me a plate of that I said no it's late now he said ok call me tomorrow and place an order and I will give you a discount. I said great I will do that I called him the next day which is today and asked for Ibrahim the person on the phone said he was not here and he would call me back. Nevertheless he never called me back not only was the food not that great but this business does not keep their word I spent 50 dollars because they also charge a 5 dollar delivery fee. I was so disappointed with this place never again
I've eaten here a few times and, while it's not winning any awards for the best restaurant in town, it was decent for the time being. However, their quality and their service has taken a steep decline. My father and a friend of mine (as well as me) ordered delivery from them two nights ago. It was a large order! Samosa, porota with egg, goat curry, channa masala, malai kofta, cauliflower appetizer, etc. They delivered the food on time, which was great. The food actually tasted okay. Again, nothing to call the motherland about but it was edible for the evening. Then…the trouble starts. It starts with my father. He spent the night in the bathroom. Then my friend suffered the whole night, barely getting any sleep. Then I suffered all throughout work yesterday, practically calling out sick for the rest of the day because I couldn't stand the stomach pain. Mind you, none of us actually mentions this to each other until the end of the day so there wasn't any "influencing" happening in between but at the end of the day, when we were talking to each other, we discovered the common culprit to be the food from Mumbai Spices.
We were willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. We called them yesterday and spoke to someone. He said he was extremely busy at the restaurant and will call back in ten minutes. Over an hour passes by and no call. We call them again and they said the same thing. Give them our number and they will call as soon as they can. It's the next day…still no call. We called them several times when we realized they were not going to call back and they made the same promises to call back – still no callbacks
When someone calls you and tells you they've gotten SICK from YOUR food, you perk up and pay attention. This is your business, I'm assuming this is your livelihood. You better pay attention to the customer. Chances are, we're not the only ones getting sick that night. Because of their terrible customer service (or lack thereof), their vomit-inducing food, and the food's lackluster taste, I will personally never come back and will warn my friends and family against this place.
This is a review for the Thursday night Dosa unlimited buffet only (what a grand idea). Which was quite pleasant, servers were friendly. The restaurant was empty, however so you felt like a bit of a "experiementer" if you will. The dosas were excellent, and many different kinds. Being from Queens I always want to have access to great Indian food, and thus far this place didn't disappoint. Definitely will return soon.
So I came to this spot for the buffet. I don't believe that Buffets give you a true quality of a restaurant,(I will keep this in mind when I do reviews of a restaurant during buffet time) but this buffet sucked. 10 dollars is pretty decent but gosh the food was just so bland. It definitely looked the part lol, has the right scent to Indian food, but the food wasn't fresh, the spices didn't sink in well , and the the quality of ingredients was severely lacking. There was no one in the restaurant. It says a lot when you go to a restaurant that has an all you can eat buffet for 10 dollars and no one is there lol. The place is huge with tons of seating…..I can't ever imagine seeing this place filled to even 50 percent of its capacity.
I really can't say anything postive about this place besides the size of the restaurant….lol we all know size doesn't matter when it comes to the food industry unless you are on a budget.
Even if you are on a budget , I would not recommend this place.
