Def a great place to eat the different kind of parathas. we come from boston and i usually eat here for last couple times and it hasbeen great. addition of GOLA is great too. just tell them to not add any masala to it . it makes it much more better without the masala.
I've been here twice now and both times have been extremely memorable! (Last time was 3 months ago- yes, catching up on reviews!) this is almost like a fast food Indian place but not in the traditional sense. They have a variety of foods here ranging from proper meals to quick street cart items. We have now tried multiple types of paratas (they have over 100 combinations of stuffing!), pav bhaji, kasta kachori, cheese frankie, missal pav, as well as a few of their subzis and daals. My favorite thing here hands down is the pav bhaji. No joke I haven't had pav bhaji that tastes this good outside of India ever! The paratas are great too. We've gotten the platter both times. I think next time we should just get the individual ones. You can stuff it with anything you want! Get creative with it- I'm pretty sure it'll still be delish! This place is def a must go for me the next time I visit the family in NJ!
Note: the only reason I took a star away for because of the ambiance and styrofoam plates. They could easily make this place a little less casual.
Same style as Dimple but with specialty in parathas.
I actually prefer their flavor better and the wait is it as long.
With the paratha, don't be intimidated by their ample selection, yes all 100 of them. They allow you to pick your filling – 5 of them so that's what I did: Aloo, onions, chillies, spinach, cilantro. Maybe that's an option. The paratha comes with yoghurt, pickle and onion salad. I think next time I may try the platter.
The rava dosa is also very crispy and larger than usual. It comes with a chickpea dipping sauce. Yummy!
Lastly the daiphur chat was also quite fresh and great to balance the spicy dishes.
I will come back to try the golden bel next time – the waiter suggested that I should get it since it is very spicy. I'll take my chances next time! And order a glass if lassi just in case.
Service is good – you order and you pay at the cashiers, don't wait for your check.
Bar none, this is my favorite restaurant on Oak Tree Road. Every time I'm back in Edison, I make sure to visit here.
First, the food. You won't get a finer selection of Indian chaat, street food, dosas, and parathas anywhere else. I've tried nearly everything on the menu, and while I have some of my favorite dishes – the pav bhaji, chole bhatura, papdi chaat, and paani puri are always excellent choices – you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu here. It can be a bit spicy, so you're in luck if that's something you like, but be sure to let them know to make it milder if that's not your thing. Also, the quantities of food are very manageable, so it's pretty common to order multiple dishes and sample a variety of items on the menu on each visit.
The caveat here is that, if you're looking for a fine dining ambiance and customer service experience, this isn't it, nor does it try to be. The name of the game here is efficiency. It's a plain-looking decor, with tables practically on top of each other and (on a busy day) patrons waiting for a table standing over you as you eat. The servers are very fast and prompt but will try to push you out the door if you're not eating or ordering. In other words, it's wonderful food with a strong hole-in-the-wall feel to it.
In all, I'd definitely recommend this place if you're looking for great food with little regard for ambiance or formality or any of those other things.
This is the place to be for some quick Indian snack, such as dosa, 100 + parathas, pani pure, samosas, lassi's (different flavors) and many more that are all soo delicious.
My husband and I LOVE their parathas. We order he specialty parathas, where you can choose what you want inside the parathas, which comes with yogurt. The prices are perfect and not going to break the bank at all. The food are fresh, delicious and mouth watery tasty. There so many different types of desserts that looks good, but didn't get a chance to try them.
Be prepared to wait cause there is usually a little wait to get a table. Oh yeah, this is a fast food place..so don't expect silverware, you will be served in paper plate and plastic utensils and a pitcher of water. The turn around here is quick, but if you are starving…oh well, your just gonna have to wait. The food here is worth waiting for.
I love the food here. Everything is fresh and delicious. I highly recommend the pau bhaji and all the amazing parathas. I've never been disappointed by khasiyat!!!
Very good parathas (stuffed Indian flat breads). There are plenty of choices on the menu for the stuffing combinations but if you're not thrilled still, you can order a custom paratha.
