  1. This place is a hidden gem. It's definitely a divey place and out helps if you speak Spanish. It was empty when I visited, people did come in to pick up ordered but otherwise there was only one table taken. I tried the fish, the calamari, and a fried rice dish with plantains. The lady behind the counter its friendly but speaks little English.  Anyway everything was good and the seafood was fresh. Prices aren't bad, and you get a good portion of food. I wish there was parking nearby, I'd like to go back and try the soups next.

  2. 3 months after I started working in the South Bronx, my boss asked me to go here for lunch with her.  After that meal, I went here for lunch everyday for a week.  Mind you, I moved from Virginia Beach so I hated walking anywhere…I took the 10 City Block Hike in the South Bronx every day at 12:00 pm to this place just so I can have some of their authentic Ecuadorian Shrimp Ceveche, chicken salad, white rice, and maduros (total: $13)….Other items that are good, that I've tried are the bistec and their shrimp soup (they have the best soups).  The places sits about 30-40 people, they have a HUGE flat screen tv that is always on a spanish channel.  In the summer time, the place gets really warm, so try to sit next to the windows for some cool air.  This is one of those places you really don't go to for the ambiance or decor…. (Enough said)

It's located right of off (take the 2 or 5 train) E 149th Street so if you don't have cash, be sure to go to your local bank nearby and pick some up because this place only accepts cash.
