“This place is a weekly go-to for my boyfriend and I. We typically stroll in anywhere between 7:30pm and 9:30pm, and there is always a table readily available.”

  1. Sapporo Ichiban is a nice spot for a low key dinner. My friend and I came in here on a Monday night and were seated immediately. We shared the sashimi pizza and one of the combo sets. First of all, 4 words…what a great deal!

The sashimi pizza was very tasty and the flavors went together very well. The amount of fish on top is very generous and they had these crispy noodle looking things on top that made it crunchy. It was a nice texture in my mouth.

The other set was ginormous as well! For $15 we got like 24 pieces, which is… a lot!

I remember coming here like 8 years ago. It's nice to see its still here. There's seating outside in the garden area and they keep the light kind of dim and romantic. The only thing I could wish for was better presentation, but nonetheless great neighborhood spot!

  2. The rolls I had were pretty meh but they were open late when we needed it and for that, I can't give them less than 3 stars. I'd say it met expectations.

  3. In spite of the fact that my friend and I meant to go to a different sushi restaurant in Greenpoint, this ended up being a surprisingly tasty and cozy night. Price-wise it's VERY reasonable, without being so cheap that you feel sketchy and worried about the fish quality. For $20 including tax and tip I had wine, a roll, soup and a salad. My friend went with some type of combo for $16 which ended up being enough sushi for 3 people. This was a catch-up dinner of sorts, and we sat there for hours after finishing – though they were quick to bring the check they let us sit there without any issues. After we had paid, my friend asked for some green tea and offered to pay; they gave it to her on the house!

Not sure how often I'd be in the area (and I still love that other sushi spot, Sakura 6!) but I can definitely endorse Sapporo for those nights when you're in a casual sushi mood.

  4. For me it is a ok suhsi place. Not expensive Lots of food
Fish is fresh and what I like the most was the seaweed salad was not cut with some iceberg.
The hijiki was amazing!! The restaurant itself ( the atmosphere) was nothing crazy. It looked more like a place where you got the food delivered! but it is a address to keep in mind!

  5. Came here on a weekday night because I was craving sushi and it was close to the G train! It was fairly empty and got seated right away.

My friend and I shared a sashimi pizza. It was very tasty! It came with 4 pieces of a heaping pile of sashimi on a thin delicate cracker-like thing. The flavor was great, and could have eaten a whole myself as my dinner.

We then split a combo roll platter. It was such a great deal for $15! It basically came with 3 rolls (8 pieces each). It was a lot of sushi and between the 2 of us, we were unable to finish it all.

All in all, prices were good, service was good, and the ambiance of the restaurant was good! Would recommend this place, and do get the sashimi pizza!

  6. We enjoyed a very pleasant post-work dinner here last night. The environment is both ambient and modern, playing popular songs and remixes that we SoundHounded for future reference. The service here was very professional and considerate.

They let us use the WiFi password for work laptop purposes mid-way through the dinner and they refilled our sake vase with no problem at all.

We ordered the sushi love boat for 2, which came with salad and miso soup. A couple pieces of the sushi were a little soggy and fell apart upon picking them up with chopsticks (before they had the chance to be dunked in the soy sauce), but they still tasted wonderful. Perhaps it was the humidity, but it was rather cool inside with air condition.

Overall, we will definitely come here again to dine, especially since it is so close to the Nassau subway stop on the G line!

  7. This is my favorite Japanese restaurant!
Very clean and the service is always amazing! They are reasonably prices and you get a good quality of food–Everything is fresh! They offer Free Hot Sake during the dinner time! I have been going here for over 3 years!
    Pros:
    – All the food is fresh
    – The staff is very pleasant
    – AMAZING SPICY CALIFORNIA ROLLS ( Must say one of the best California rolls I have had)
    – Outdoor Seating area
    – Not overpriced
    – Large quality Bento box for Lunch
    – Fast Delivery service

    Cons: NONE

    MUST GO!

  8. Free hot sake! They'll refill it enough to really make it worth it.

Solid place to bring a group. It doesn't seem to get crazy busy, which is nice. There are so many sushi spots where you can expect to wait an hour or more. Not here! That alone is awesome.

Add in the sake, and you've got yourself a place I'll go back to.

The only confusion is the name. Sapporo Haru is on the sign outside..but it's Sapporo Ichiban everywhere else.
