  1. A little bit better than Chiptole with some different options, but they keep this place at about 30 degrees. Truly. It was so cold in there we couldn't enjoy our meal at all and couldn't wait to leave.

  2. Very similar (but better in my opinion to Chipotle) Oxido has so many house made salsas that may make you want to keep revisiting until you try them al! I love that everything is so fresh and that they move fairly quickly during the lunch times. Their bowls are super filling and whatever they use to season that chicken is like crack.

  3. Obviously, Oxido is going to garner comparisons to Chipotle, but in terms of burritos, I like Oxido more. They have the same type of online ordering system (it's $10 min for pickup and $12 min for delivery – both before tax). Order online for pickup if you want to avoid the lines, because the lines are long. And for good reason – they make a mean burrito. And they'll stuff it to the gills. I ordered the garlic steak and it was enough food for two meals (or one giant lunch because I'm a fat ass). There's also a ton of crap you can add to it, most of which come free. But some stuff you pay extra for (you know what's extra). All in all, a great lunch option in the Flatiron area.

  4. A colleague of mine recommended this place as an alternative to Chipotle. I went with his suggestion of Mexican Beef Curry and wasn't disappointed. The ingredients were pretty fresh, the amount of food was substantial, and the flavors were on point.

I was a bit surprised that the queso sauce costs an extra $3, so I avoided it, even though it looked fantastic. The line was a bit long, but it did move along pretty quickly and also gave me a chance to think about what I wanted to get.

    Overall a nice lunch option.

  5. Came here for lunch last week and I must say out of all the Chipotle-style "Mexican" places, Oxido is my favorite. Why? You get the biggest portion for your money (the salad here is probably 1.5 times the size of a Chipotle salad bowl). But most importantly the ingredients felt fresher. Were they actually? Idk, but they sure were more colorful. Oxido was very generous with the cilantros, my favorite everything, and they give you lemon/lime wedges too. THe line here can get pretty lunch during lunch hours–be warned.

  6. Their concept is very similar to chipotle, I agree. But the fact that this place is Korean operated, with Jewish entrepreneur, and Mexican chef, they do offer some unique features. The food had more variety of flavor, and their selection of sauces are really fun and tasty. The quality of food was really high, all made from scratch, so they are super fresh also. Everything tasted so awesome!

The staff were all really nice and helpful, friendly and polite. I enjoyed talking to them also.

We will definitely go back there for more of them delicious, fresh, tasty food! Read my full review of this restaurant and food my food blog, foodlovergirl.

  7. This was another restaurant that was featured at work. If I am being COMPLETELY honest…. It's basically like Chipotle. With a different name. The food is good and slightly overpriced. I understand having to pay extra for guacamole but caso fresco? GTFOH….

  8. Nice spot, really quick service, good food. Yes, it's very similar to Chipotle but it definitely has its own taste! They have so many sauces and game changers thrown into the mix that they really don't end up tasting super similar at all. I love queso, and I was SO GLAD to see that they had it since it's so hard to find in the north! Theirs was maybe a little bland but that also might be just that it got masked by the salsa I got. Next time I think I'm going to eschew the sauce or get it on the side so I can really hone in on my love for melty cheese.
