  1. We stopped here one night about 8:35 and they were about to be closed at 9 but allowed us to sit down anyway.   We just got california roll and a spicy tuna crunch roll.  The rolls are good and a pretty good sized although one star off for not having my husband's favorite spider roll.  They tasted pretty fresh and was not cheap on their ingredients. What sushi place does not have spider roll?  It is really small and probably only had 5 tables.    So next time I go, I'll probably only get take out.    This is a good place if I am ever craving sushi and it is close to me.

  2. Good sushi. Reasonable prices. Small venue. We had to share a table with someone else because there are only like five tables. No worries. Sushi was good as was the sashimi and nigiri (we shared a combo plate). Nothing super special. The combo for two was easily enough food for two people, but you could probably get more ban for your buck with some strategically ordered rolls if that's what you were looking for.

  3. Hard to find good or even decent sushi at low prices in New York. Well Sushi Time gives you just that.

Huge selection of rolls here with options to dine in, pick-up, or even get delivery.

I had the following rolls and they were all tasty, fresh, and big. The OMG and WOW rolls were my favorite. The gentlemen's roll was my least favorite.

    – spicy tuna roll
    – spicy salmon roll
    – OMG roll
    – Gentlemen's roll
    – WOW roll

    Will be back.

  4. On the outside, Sushi Time is your run-of-the-mill sushi restaurant: nothing fancy, something you could easily overlook. Even on the inside, the restaurant is small–even congested– with only a few tables and seating by the sushi bar, and little to no decoration.

However, what Sushi Time lacks in seating and aesthetics, it makes up for in the quality of its Japanese food. Luckily we just beat the dinner rush and Sushi Time was able to seat our party of 4 on a Saturday night. Although the restaurant seems to thrive on its takeout service more than its in-house dining, the waitress was very attentive and we were able to order relatively quickly.

I personally had a difficult time deciding what to get because everything sounded so delicious, but I settled on the Lana Roll and the Benny Roll, both of which are wrapped in soy instead of seaweed. My brother and father split one of the sushi for two plates, and my boyfriend got the sushi box B.

Before our food was ready, the restaurant brought out miso soups for everyone on the house, which was incredibly kind. The soups were good and soothed my throat on a cold winter day. The food arrived quickly after, and I never once felt like there was a lull in the service. For the prices we paid, the food was way more than enough–I ordered two rolls and ended up with about 20 pieces! The sushi for two was also more than enough sushi for two people, even if you're considerably hungry. By the end of our meal, everyone was sufficiently filled to the brim with raw fish.

My recommendation would be not to judge this restaurant by its looks. The food is fresh and the service is fast, and you won't regret eating at Sushi Time.

  5. With three chefs and one person waiting, I would have to say (particularly given the raw nature of the food) The service is not the speediest in this place.

  6. My boyfriend and I recently moved to the nabe and tried this place for a quick lunch. We are coming back because we really enjoyed the specialty roll with blue crab meat! So tasty and different. Prices were very reasonable, place tidy and simple- several tables and about 6 seats at the sushi bar. And the seaweed salad was a plump amount. Friendly staff!

  7. I pass SUSHI TIME often and wonder if it's going to be another restaurant with mediocre food and overpriced for what it is.

My boyfriend and I ordered the salmon avocado rolls and crunchy tuna rolls with avocado. I must say that this is the best crunchy tuna roll I have ever tasted in my life. The crunchy part was around the roll covering the rice. Most places, will put the crunch in the center. The fish was unbelievably fresh.

A small place to sit down, so not a place to come with larger groups. Nonetheless, sitting in here can be surprisingly relaxing.

The only reason I did not leave five stars is because my water was not filled up once. It's important to have water at some point during/after my meal when it's 94 degrees outside.

  8. Sushi Time is a TINY restaurant that seats up to 16-18 people and that's including at the bar. Do not come here with a large group (as in greater than 4 people). Seriously, it just cannot be done. Most customers seem to order pickup which makes sense given the lack of space.

I like to come here to treat myself every once in a blue. It certainly is not a place I visit regularly because it can be pretty costly. Each specialty roll averages around 14 bucks and this girl does not only eat one roll at a time. Nuh-uh! Pricey as it may be, each roll is large and can come with up to 8-10 delicious pieces. So filling and so satisfying! You really pay for what you get though because you can spend a fraction of the cost elsewhere but the quality is also inferior. Do I really think Sushi Time should have city prices? Probably not. But I like it enough that I think it's worth coming to every now and then.

This restaurant is Korean-owned – not that it really matters but it's always interesting to me whether a Japanese restaurant is actually run by Japanese people. The workers here are courteous and very welcoming.
