  1. Was feening for some guacamole after I got out of work .. I yelped this spot and thought …. Let me check it out. So when I got here ; the waitress was welcoming and service was quick. ( maybe cause I already knew what I wanted to try out!) 🙂
Ordered the guacamole first. And man!!! It was good! I ordered the margarita with hibiscus and it was pretty good! Impressed ! The place is small and welcoming . The decor is nice. I also ordered 1 of each …. Shrimp, cactus, and fish taco . They tasted fresh and delicious. However ; the shrimp was the best! Definitely will be coming back . So far so good!

  2. Live in the area and this is one of the best restaurants around Parkchester. Most authentic Mexican food I've ever had and always have quite a few customers no matter the time of day.  One of my favorite dishes is the steak nachos…not on the menu but OMG, portions are huge (big enough to share for 2) and oh so good!! Another popular option is the guac and chips. I am also a fan of their seafood dishes, shrimp with sauce and rice. This is definitely a regular spot of mine and will come back again and again!

  3. I love Mexican food. I love Mexican food soooo much that my boyfriend and I drove from Bridgeport CT to this place to try it out. It had some good Yelp reviews, so I figured it would be worth it.

I ordered one of my staples, chicken enchiladas in the spicy red sauce (I hate that I don't know the actual name), and a pork taco on the side. The enchiladas came with a plate of Rice & Beans. My boyfriend ordered a Cuban sandwich.

Im not sure what it was, but I wasn't in love with my meal!!! Maybe I have been too brainwashed by Chipotle, but I didn't finish my entree. Maybe it just wasn't salty enough for me.

The Cuban sandwich was delicious and so was the pork taco. The pork was really tasty– it was prepared almost like Griot (if you're familiar with Haitian cuisine).

I will give this place another try, whenever Im in the area.

  4. Even though this place does not have a letter grade yet, I am still confidently giving this place 5 stars.

The food and service are incredible alongside with the prices. They also do offer take out. My bf and I have taken out before and it usually takes 15mins to get our food.

For sit down service, it does take a little bit longer for some reason, but no worries they offer complimentary chips and salsa while you wait. We ordered the chips and guac. as an appetizer for $7 (I think) and we decided to split a burrito (usually around $8). On a normal day we could each order one and completely devour it. It is a fair portion per person, but on that day we had a dinner to attend so we decided to split it. They guac and burrito are just delicious!!!

The place itself is very small and not very fancy looking but for a lunch date on  a sat its perfectly fine. The staff is absolutely great! Friendly. I prefer this burrito over chipotle any day!

  5. I haven't done much exploration on the west coast yet, but this is by far the best Mexican food I've had on the east coast. The burritos are everything they're cracked up to be — I've had the spicy pork (my favorite) and the steak (also great) — and the chips and guac were also among the best I've ever had. My wife has typically ordered the tacos, and while those were great as well, the gap between them and the tacos you can typically get in Manhattan was much smaller than the enormous gap between their burritos and what you can get (or at least, what I've gotten) in Manhattan.

After discovering it recently, I went four times in the following month, including one time with a group of 8. After ordering eight burritos, a number of margaritas, a couple orders of guac, and some tacos for sides, it came to just over $20 per person, AFTER tax and tip. It's honestly hard to eat at typical nyc Mexican places after experiencing such amazing food for such low prices. The area might make some Manhattan-only people uncomfortable, and it is a long ride on the 6, but it is so, so worth it.

  6. Just incredible burritos. We went (table of two) here on a Friday night and it was crowded, but got seated right away. Their guacamole is super simple and delicious (and you get a lot of it!). The real treat is watching all the guys in the kitchen working away making the most delicious burrito I've had in New York. I had the steak and tried part of the chicken burrito and both were delicious and bursting with flavor. I would highly recommend it.

  7. This place is excellent. It's a small restaurant and it was packed on a late Friday evening. I had the chicken burrito and it was extremely good. In particular, I loved the creamy chipotle sauce that they put on top. Definitely ask for a side of this to smother on everything because it's that good. Not that you need to smother it on everything but I just loved the sauce. We also had the guacamole to start which is definitely made fresh and is delicious. It's served in a stone made to order small bowl. The tortilla chips were good too and were more hearty than your typical white corn chips. Service was also very quick and the prices very affordable. I still don't know if this or Estrella Poblano is my favorite Bronx Mexican joint but I'd definitely go back! They appeared to do a large take our business and delivery as well if you live in the area!

  8. I can't believe how good this hole in the wall restaurant is. Enchiladas with green chiles. Authentic taste like you are in Santa Fe. Really rare in the northeast. Home made chips and salsa. See my pictures.
