Strong Margs – check
Bottomless Brunch – check
Great Guac – check
Always a good time. Happy Hour is where it's at. Their brunch omelet with a side of haberno hot sauce is so good! I can't speak for dinner, but the brunch is a good deal.
Loved the bottomless brunch option here, they were very accommodating and let us all order multiple types of drinks and right up until the bill came. We were seated upstairs so it was a much different feeling than the lower level. It was a little more private but high ceilings and fun decor too. My only complaint is the portion of guacamole for the price is definitely steep. We got a double which was $21 and it literally shouldn't have been more than $10 but it was very good! I ordered the huevos divorciados which was yummy. Again, small portion but tasty. I would come back for brunch though!
Eh. This place was okay. Nothing special.
I've had much better brunches elsewhere and for a cheaper price. I got the Chicken Tacos (3) which came with good seasoning and a tasty, tangy, green side sauce topping. ($11 I believe)
I had a blueberry margarita drink that was different in taste and not the best honestly. Especially not worth $15.
The location is easy to find and easily accessible. The crowd is pretty hill and the staff is nice. Do't think I will be coming back here though. Overpriced and there are many other brunches spots in NYC with better pricing and food.
Disclaimer: went with a gilt city purchase which included guacamole, 2 entrees, and 1 side.
This is definitely a great value with the gilt city voucher. Paying full price is a little steep but the food is tasty and fresh. I can't speak for authenticity of Mexican food, however I think the food was presented beautifully and prepared well overall. Guacamole comes in a fun mortar and pestle bowl, large portion that probably feeds 4 satisfyingly. The enchiladas de molé negro were delicious, the chocolate in the sauce doesn't seem strange at all and had really balanced flavors. I would not recommend the mixioto de Cordero, which was too gamey and had strange flavors- I'm a little confused why there were huge pickled cauliflower and carrots, which don't seem to be taco material. The fried plantains are such a good indulgence, as most fried things should be. Since they're sweet, we treated them as dessert. I wouldn't mind a scoop of ice cream on top – too much?
Service was a bit spotty, I think they mean well but it was awkward at times. Seems like a fun place for happy hour. The tables are pretty close together, so not my ideal date spot.
i came here with my boyfriend to use a gilt deal. it included guac, 2 entrees, 1 side and 4 drinks (margs, beer or wine). before we got sat at our table we enjoyed their happy hour (bar only) for an hour. this included $5-$8 drinks along with select $8 apps. we were able to score the last two seats at the bar, so it seemed like the happy hour was pretty popular. we ordered the chorizo quesadilla which was very tasty.
for dinner we were seated upstairs, which was spacious and cute. the guac was delicious and we both really enjoyed the entrees. my bf insists his carne asada was better, but i disagree as my Carnitas De Fonda was ah-mazing. melt in your mouth pork with a great salsa verde, definitely recommend. the entrees were also served with rice and two types of beans. For the shared side we got the corn. It was served in a broth which was unexpected, but there was lots of cotija cheese along with an unexpected kick of heat at the end!
i enjoyed my experience here, and am interested in coming back for their bottomless brunch.
I'm surprised this place doesn't have a higher rating!
Came here with friends (a group of 5) on Sunday. We had a 12:45pm reservation. The place was already busy, with people packed into both floors
Boozy brunch here is $35 and includes one entree and 1.5 hour of unlimited drink of your choice (margarita, rosalita, mimosa, beer). And the drinks are STRONG!! (as made evident by the fact that I was drunk the rest of the day)
Each of us ordered something different and everything was delicious! Especially the chicken torte and chilaquiles! Plus they gave us rice and beans for the table, which were delicious!
The service was good too – our waiter was friendly and very on top of getting us refills when we were close to finishing.
Overall, definitely a good spot for boozy brunch!
Love this place!! It's my favorite brunch place in the city. The 34.50 brunch special includes an amazing entree (The chicken torta is my go-to) and unlimited drinks (try the hibiscus rosalita) for an hour and a half! It's reasonable for the quality you get. Make sure you split an order of guacamole with your table as well. It's to die for. I have yet to go during the week, but I'll have to check it out.
I came here for brunch on sunday and I am giving them 4 stars for the impeccable service. They didn't even let me finish my mimosa before they refilled it. Our server just kept coming with the alcohol, which was great. This is a cute 2 floor brunch spot with a chill ambience. For brunch, I ordered the huevos rancheros. It was absolutely delicious, but it definitely did not fill me up. I would recommend this place overall.
