We ate there last night for dinner. I had the steak which was a good sized portion and cooked medium rare to perfection. The potatoes were well done although there was only a couple. This Midwestern er can never have enough so feel free to pile them on:) While I'm not a huge spinach fan, I did enjoy the sautéed spinach and it owasnt canned:) Aside from the steak, what stood out to me was the gravy which was the icing on the cake for the entire meal.
My bf had the fish, and he gave me a piece. It was juicy and not overdone at all.
The service was superb and attentive.
We're still talking about the meal….and that steak…..oh yea!! We'll be back!!
Happened to be in the neighborhood this afternoon, so my best friend (and fellow foodie) and I stopped in to check this place out. It was 1pm and they were only serving from the brunch menu. There was a private party going on in the party room upstairs and a large party of cackling women at the long table in the center of the small restaurant. The restrooms are located down a narrow stairwell and through a small hallway in the basement. I almost suggested we go somewhere else.
Boy, am I glad I sat down and gave this place a fair shake. The food and service knocked my socks off! I had the pork belly eggs Benedict, which was heavenly! The pork belly was so crisp yet melted in my mouth like butter. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the hollandaise was used sparingly, but just enough to highlight all the flavored and textures of the dish. A small spring mix salad was served on the side with a tangy dressing. Our server and busboy were both on point. My water glass never went empty.
Somehow, I left room for dessert and chose the light yet decadent chocolate soufflé, which was served warm with a delightful pistachio ice cream. And a latte so perfect that I had to order a second one–it was that good! I was climbing the walls from the caffeine overdose but it was so worth it–masterfully crafted with rich espresso and velvety foam. I can't wait to go back so we can try the regular menu!
No changes in the rating, as they've always been a five star business to me. Many more visits later, we still haven't been disappointed. This is a solid joint!
I commented quite a bit on their wall decor in my first review and it looks like all of that has been addressed. My OCD is at peace.
It's better than a 4, but less than a 4.5…I'd say 4.25.
I've been here twice so far – the first time I had the Steak and eggs – Steak was a nice 6-7oz flat iron, perfectly cooked and seasoned medium rare steak..the eggs were perfect over easy…it came with a salad, not over dressed, or under…but just the right amount of light dressing
Second time around I tried the salmon eggs benny – if you ask me they were a bit stingy on the salmon and hollandaise sauce, but overall it was good – the star of the dish were the potatoes though..mmmm..delicious!!
Overall, I would recommend it – its a nice, clean establishment and the manager is really nice and accommodating! Get the steak and eggs.
I'll be back to try the Huevos…
Stopped in for brunch after having this bookmarked for so long. I was surprised there was a brunch spot on this side of Myrtle since this area is not yet ~gentrified~ but I was happy nonetheless.
I had the steak and eggs and my bf had the frittata special. The steak and eggs dish was a generous portion but it was rather lackluster. The potatoes had a distinctive flavor – tasted a lot like chicken soup. It was strange. I think they're simmered in a chicken stock of some sort. Whatever the case, it was a weird flavor and I didn't like it at all. The mixed greens were great, eggs were good – but the steak was very dry and also had that weird chicken stock flavor. The overall dish was very underwhelming – don't do it.
The frittata special, however, was delicious. It was served in a casserole dish and had a mix of spicy sausages, eggs, cheese, peppers, onions – the works. With that combo it was really hard to not taste amazing.
Mimosas were tasty and pretty large and the service was great. I'll return to try the other dishes.
What an amazing find, as I walked around Myrtle Avenue during my lunch break. I was in the mood for either a sandwich or a burger and I saw their menu outside and decided to give it a try. I only had a few minutes left so I decided to have my lunch to go, I got their chicken sandwich with just $2 more you can add bacon and it was one of the most amazing chicken sandwiches I've ever had, it came with seasoned crispy fries and I couldn't stop raving about it at work that a few of my co-workers went the next day and both had their Portobello Panini and went again the following day because they loved it that much.
The second time I went, I brought more co-workers with me and we all got different dishes of their menu except for me. I got their steak sandwich on a sour dough bread that was the special of the day. We all loved our dishes and was talking about how this was our new spot and we couldn't wait to go back. I asked the server how the name of the place is pronounced and I still can't seem to say it correctly, it has a silent "T" and I still can't say it correctly.
This past Friday some of my co-workers mentioned they were going to Ltauha to pick up lunch and this time I decided to try their Grilled Cheese sandwich, I was afraid that I was going to get jipped out of a $10 grilled cheese sandwich because I thought it was going to be a small one but it was not. It was juicy and the right size and worth the 10 bucks. This place just keeps getting better and better.
The décor is phenomenal and they have customized wooden tables and benches all around, they even have a second floor that I still have not yet seen. I saw they offer brunch and I told the boo we need go the one weekend because I know I would not be disappointed since everything I have eaten has surpassed my expectations.
My boyf and I were hungover, starving, and having a hanger (hunger/anger) fueled argument about where to go. He wanted food immediately, I wanted a burger.
After a minor meltdown, we chose Ltauha based on burger availability and proximity to the amazing, huge Food Bazaar.
We were seated quickly. The space is cute and the service is attentive.
He had the pork belly benedict – very good, a little fatty.
I had the burger (duh). The burger was top notch. I added bacon (duh) and ordered it medium rare. I can't count how many times my burger or steak has been over cooked. Luckily, this wasn't one of those times.
Home fries needed more seasoning, but otherwise good. Bloody Mary a bit. . . off.
I'll definitely be back next time I NEED a burger.
One of the few brunch spots in Ridgewood and its a good one.
Got the following
– Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict – This was a very good dish, enjoyed it, good taste and the yolk dripping perfectly. Would order this again
– French Toast with Nutella and fruits – This was bit overly sweet and feels more like a desert then for brunch. Although it was good, I was looking to get something something less sweet, so wouldnt order this again.
Overall the decor is splendid, good lighting the a gem for the location. The front of the restaurant kind of makes it hard to even notice it is there since it doesnt have any real restaurant store front logo showing.
