  1. Decided to pick up food from Jersey's Meatballs for dinner last night. Have to admit I was a bit skeptical about it but decided to be optimistic.  Lesson learned always trust your gut.

1 star for friendly and fast service. An additional star for a creative and interesting menu. 0 stars for food I'm afraid.

I ordered the juicy meatball hero and my other half ordered the lasagna meatballs dish. One bite into my hero and it went down hill from there. The meatballs tasted so bland and were gigantic. Even the sauce itself was extremely heavy and tasted like someone made the entire pot out of red pepper flakes.

This truly was not a good dish for my personal taste. Perhaps I'll give it another try in the near future because I do like to see places prosper especially the local restaurants.

  2. I had them cater my company luncheon. The biggest keys I look for in good catering is punctuality, good communication and great food. JM Co delivered on all three.

I put in my order with Craig who was great and really expedited the ordering process.  Their driver Ray was also a class act.

Onto the food, the meatballs were the main attraction and everybody liked them a lot (well except for one but he's got a picky palate). We had all four types of meatball heroes: turkey, beef, pork and veggie. The bread was just right, not too hard or soggy from the sauce. However the scene stealer had to be the lava cakes. Everybody was falling over themselves to grab a piece. Good thing I had to foresight to halve them otherwise my coworkers might've turned into an hangry mob ready to finish me.

Anyway, final verdict – I shall cater from here again! Or at the very least convince my boy Craig to deliver to Hoboken!

  3. This place rocks!! My wife and I came here to dine in and were warmly greeted. Both times the chef came out to chat with us. He's super friendly. The first time he brought out one of their rice balls on the house for us to try. Needless to say it was damn tasty. The first time we ordered from here we each got a meatball sandwich. Both were good. The second time I ordered from here I meant to order buffalo wing meatballs because I saw them pictured on here. What I got was wings instead, and funny enough they were better than most wings around here. The chef came out and apologized for the confusion, told me they only made those wings for the Super Bowl, and offered to make them for me next time. No big deal. I also ordered the Italian meatball dish that was really good. I've noticed I prefer their pork based meatballs more than their beef based ones. Each time we've been here the service is stellar and the food rocks. This will become a regular spot.

  4. I applaud this place because they are putting efforts to diversify and expand their menu to appeal to as many people as possible. And in theory, their concept sounds great and should work but there are a few things that could improve.

I went here with the Yelp coupon I had with a friend and we were both pretty excited since we both love Italian food and meatballs.

Since spaghetti and meatballs is one of my favorite all-time dishes, it was a no-brainer for me to get that. My friend was in the mood for a sandwich, so he got a meatball sub with pork meatballs and vodka sauce. I got the beef meatballs for my dish with marinara sauce. My friend really enjoyed his sandwich. He said the pork meatballs had good pork flavor and the bread, cheese and sauce were really great. I thought my spaghetti and meatballs dish was fine but honestly, I thought the meatballs were kind of a "miss". They weren't very flavorful and it really appeared that they were frozen and then reheated. There wasn't really a good char on the outside of the meatball and the inside of the meatball was almost too firm.

All the dishes really sound great, but obviously if your main dish is the meatball, you better serve a fresh and tasty one. I thought the prices were fair and the staff seemed friendly.

Not sure I would come back here again unless I hear their meatballs have improved dramatically but if I lived nearby I'm sure I'd grab their sandwich once in a while.

  5. The place is my favorite meat ball shop in the area, yes, even better than the one in east village (different company).

The rice ball appetizer is one of the best starters I've had in a long time. It's not as crunchy as it looks (a good thing) and the inside is filled with meat and cheese! The sauce it comes with (we got spicy pink) is not so spicy (also a good thing) but really ties in the flavor with the fried rice ball!

I ordered a beef meatball lasagna for a meal – which isn't actually lasagna but roughly the same ingredients. The meat balls where cooked well, soft and moist, with herbs in the beef. The pasta was also cooked well (though it's somewhat hard to handle) and the tomato sauce is mixed with Parmesan and it's not too acidic or oily.

We skipped on dessert because of how full we are but would expect the lava cake to be just as quality as the rest of the meal.

Price is high when you think about it, but this place gives both quality and quantity so it makes sense to be in that range.

The atmosphere here is pretty casual and great for a lunch with friends. Would recommend on any weekday afternoon for a nice (fun?) meal.

  6. I ordered online. Specified, Beef Meatballs with pasta in a PESTO sauce, no tomato. I can't have tomato. It comes with tomato. I call them and they quickly bring me a new order. But THAT order is also wrong. Pesto and all, but not beef meatballs. Come on, really? Never again.

  7. I stopped by yesterday with some friends for a late lunch. I'd heard about it from a friend and saw some reviews on Yelp and wanted to try it out.

    1. Almost every menu item offers 3 balls – in the hero sandwiches, the pasta dishes, etc. They offer a variety of meatballs – traditional (Linda's), beef, pork, chicken, and vegetarian.

My husband and I split a hero sandwich with Linda's meatballs, Linda's red sauce and provolone cheese ($8). The bread was perfectly crisp on the outside but soft on the inside. It held up very well to the size of the 3 meatballs (racquet ball-sized). The sauce was delicious and the cheese was hot and melted. Linda's meatball's had some good seasoning and melded well with all the other ingredients. A little more sauce would have been nice but that's just personal preference. Very good overall! We also ordered the rice balls ($7 for 3) with the spicy pink sauce (not spicy at all but still good). The rice balls were okay, but I've definitely had much better elsewhere. My friends ordered some different dishes and were generally satisfied. Some found the vegetarian meatball so-so and others liked it because it reminded them of stuffing. The pesto was oilier than expected and a creamy-type of pesto would have been preferred since it was being used as a dip for the naked balls.

We also had some leftovers, which my husband re-heated in the toaster over, and everything reheated very well. The bread was crisp on the outside and soft inside.

    2. The employees were super helpful and explained the menu to us since this was our first time at the restaurant. They checked on us twice to be sure that we had everything that we needed. They even let us swap sauces when we saw how good the spicy pink sauce looked. When the check came, there was some confusion since we had expected separate checks, but they were willing to work with us. ($2 off if you check in; $10 for $15 worth of food and drink with the Yelp coupon)

    3. This place is clean and welcoming. They have several tables that can accommodate 4 people, a long high-top table with stools for a larger group, and a 4-top table in the back with a leaf that can seat an additional 3 people. There was a tv on in the back playing a Spanish broadcast of a soccer game but it wasn't distracting.

Definitely stick with the meatballs since the rice balls were very mediocre. They have a decent selection of drinks including Mexican Coke, Sprite, and orange Fanta. They also offer delivery and takeout!

  8. They have tons of meatball and sauce options. Sandwiches, pastas, and just meatballs (3 for $7). I never knew something as simple as a meatball could be so versatile as a meal!

They have chicken, and even veggie meatballs. Pesto sauce and spicy sauce too!

In addition, they have a decent chocolate lava cake, that would be even better if they offered it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I ended up buying some ice cream at another store to go with their cake, haha.

Great concept with the use of meatballs, and you know you are in New Jersey when you are eating meatballs! 😀
