This was the only place we found in Yelp that would take a last minute reservation for a Sunday brunch.
We sat in the patio and the weather wasn't bad for around noon time in September.
I had the duck ragu brunch special (lunch size pasta with a beverage). The duck ragu was a little heavy, but tasty. My sangria was good as well!
If you use the check in offer, you can get their fried olives. I was the only person at the table who ate olives, but I didn't like olives enough to eat them all. It's more of a share with your table kind of appetizer.
Parking can be horrendous. Might be easier to park in a lot than circle for an hour looking for parking.

Very solid Italian restaurant. I highly recommend the bigoli with lamb ragu and the gnocchi with lamb carrot ragu. They offer dinner and appetizer sizes of the pasta dishes, which is great if you're like me and want to order two different ones for my dinner. Portions are good size. The lamb shank is also good. Decent selection of wines at affordable prices. They run specials (including dessert specials), which are usually all very good.
We always liked this place, its definitely a neighborhood favorite and good for families and groups. The menu is great, the wine list is exceptional for the price and it's always an enjoyable experience. Last time we went for a family meal, it was spectacular. we had the appetizer sampling plate, which was huge but everything on it was incredible. Sometimes I stay away from "mezze" plates with a bunch of different things because the items don't always go together but this appetizer sharing plate was absolutely the best. Grilled portobello mushrooms, chicken livers, incredible spread of cheese and olives, and everything is super delicious and fresh.
Tried Cavatappo last night for the first time and it was a great experience all around. I had a nice outside seat and a lovely waitress who was very attentive and helpful. I started with the Polenta & Mushrooms app., Soft polenta topped w/ assorted sautéed mushrooms, fontina cheese and truffle oil. – it was phenomenal!! It is also enough food to be a main dish. Ended the meal with the popular Spinach Pappardelle with duck ragu, and it was just as great as everyone has said. You cannot go wrong with either of these dishes. Very impressed all around and will recommend to others!
Basically five stars ONLY for the spinach pappardelle with duck ragu appetizer pasta dish & lamb shank (worth the splurge for the lamb shank).
The appetizer portion for the pasta is enough to be a meal… Pappardelle is a a great texture and the duck ragu has falling off the bone duck pieces with a creamy and satisfying ragu.
I've ordered this one dish so many times from delivery and then got it again when I actually sat down at the restaurant.
Lamb shank- I got it delivered. I'm not even ashamed because how amazing is it that I got it delivered and it was to die for? Everyone was jealous.
Honestly.. Everything else is mediocre. Just order those two dishes.
Have been here 3 or 4 times and never had a bad meal.
Last visit had:
Arugula salad with goat cheese – eh, literally arugula, grated cheese, dressing, and a half a tomato cut into 4. This salad needs some spiffing up.
Spinach pappardelle with duck – nice dish, good cream sauce enhanced by the duck, pasta cooked well
Lamb shank – very good. Lamb is fork tender and you can pull it off the bone w/o using a knife. Rich dish, comes with couscous. Very filling too.
If you tell them you are sharing a dish they'll actually bring it on 2 different plates for you which I think is pretty cool.
They also have pretty good french fries =p and a decent wine list.
Overall – decent restaurant for the area. Prices, portions, service, flavors – if you are feeling lazy and want a neighborhood bite, this place is a good option.
This place finally got rid of the high tables and added an actual bar making it a viable wine bar and evening destination.
I like thier meat and cheese platters, but have never really been fond of their prepared dishes.
Nothing wrong with them per se, just not to my taste.
Wine selection is good and now that they have a bar I can see it as a nice alternative to other neighborhood watering hole.
everything a neighborhood restaurant should be. the staff is welcoming, the food is delicious and the prices (and portions) are reasonable. some highlights include: the watermelon salad, the tagliatelle bolognese and the blueberry pie. i really don't stray from those, but have enjoyed other dishes in the past. i bring everyone who visits and they love it too.
