  1. I'm so mad at myself for not trying this place out sooner. I've been going to the pan-Asian spot down the block for my sushi and they're not that great.

I wasn't really that hungry, but I was out so I thought I'd grab a bite before heading home. I started with a salmon tartare and that was delish! I ordered my faves in nigiri and I have no complaints! All was fresh and beautifully prepared. I almost got me some Uni, but they didn't feel it was at its peak of freshness, so they didn't want to serve it to me. Well, maybe next time.

Yeah, there will be a next time.

  2. I've only ever ordered the Bento Box here for dinner.  It's my go-to take out dish for when I'm too lazy to cook.  It's a bit pricey (~$20) but comes with a good amount of food.  The food is so-so, but it's fast and I have never had a negative experience.  However, I do say be cautious of ordering raw seafood from here.  I usually get Katsu in my bento box, but one time I ordered sashimi… Won't do it again.  Just doesn't taste fresh.

  3. It was a lonely sunday night where i was so hungry that i was ready to eat a horse . Im a sushi fanatic i could literally gobble up four rolls by myself. A big deal for me when it comes to sushi places is to find a place that has not raw rolls but actually cooked ones too aside from just seafood alone, there is just some days where id rather have veggies or chicken instead or anything fishy. Using grubhub i ordered a veggie tempura roll a chicken tempura roll along with a sweet potato roll and a crispy duck roll as an appetizer along with spicy mayo for seventy five cents extra ( some places charge over a dollar). Each roll here costs above standard but you really do get what u pay for, the plain veggie rolls are 2.50 but the tempura rolls are 4.50 and up ( duck roll appetizer was 6). The order itself took forever they promised 30
Mins and it ended up being an hour . But when it finally came i ordered an order of perfection. What i love the most is that these rolls didnt fall apart no matter how much chicken or veggies were in it and they didnt arrive cold which is a big plus. Also the tempura rolls werent over fried or too oily and very crispy it was perfect and the duck roll had a lot of good flavor without feeling too heavy or fatty. Also the rice was done well so thats why the rolls must of been consistent. Despite this place being a bit pricier then usual you get what you pay for

  4. I had been roaming all around the city and it was 9:30pm. I hadn't eaten dinner yet, and I was starving.

Tendo Sushi is a casual sushi restaurant in Ridgewood. The decor is sparse and the furniture is old. I came by Tendo Sushi to make a quick pick-up of a vegetarian roll and edamame, and it took longer than 20 minutes. I was annoyed when my food arrived because of the wait, but when I ate my dinner, it was pretty tasty. I think they had just forgotten my order, because there were take-away bags zipping out of the restaurant the entire time I was there.

  5. Ordered from here this weekend as I love sushi but my girl lives in Ridgewood and there are not a lot of sushi places in the area.(whole lot of Latin chicken places tho) We each got 3 roll specials and decided to get 6 different rolls so we could try a variety. For the most part it was as average as sushi places get, nothing was bad and nothing was great. We got California which was basic and unoffensive, Eel avocado which she liked(I dont care for eel) spicy crab which was pretty good, Shrimp Tempura which was actually pretty good, Yellowtail Jalapeno which they make much better at Wasabi in Bensonhurst and sweet potato which was ok. Ordered shrimp shumai which was very good, light wrapping and nicely filled. My favorite dish we got and an odd appetizer called Crispy Duck Roll which was basically a spring roll with duck meat but you really couldnt taste much of the duck filling at all. I had Miso soup which was your basic, decent soup and she got a salad which looked nice and had nice variety but she did find a browned piece of lettuce and that kinda killed it.
Overall with the dearth of sushi in the area we will probably order again but it wouldnt be a place I would seek out.
