I moved down the block from Beyti, I soon thereafter became a regular; had many family gatherings there, and even since moving from weehawken to essex county, I STILL make special trips to Beyti because the place is excellent.
Apps: amazing- try the combination platters to familiarize yourself with what you like, then move on next time to order each one individually, because the price tag on the combo platters tends to be steep in comparison to the size of each app on the plate. The yogurt is SO good, the shepherds' salad is a must have- but be sure to order it with the feta on top, its extra and WORTH it.
Entrees: I am partial to the combination meat platters- there are slight differences in the platters, mainly the addition of one meat over another. The sliced Doner (lamb) is to die for- so are the marinated chunks of fresh lamb and chicken. The combination is large enough for two or even three to share especially after indulging on the must have appetizers.
I find that ordering double or triple the amount of apps you would normally order at a restaurant, then ordering ONE meat combination plate is more than enough for a few people, if its over three, go for two plates.
Desserts" SO good, flaky delicate drizzled with delicious honey (not a an of honey Greygirl?, youre eating the wrong cuisine.) Order it with the side of reduced sweet cream- I wish I had discovered that years ago- had it for the first time recently, its like heaven.
This is a GREAT place for family, friends, and although Ive never been there on a Saturday night- its also THE place for live music and BELLYDANCING! I have to get there to see that soon!
Go to Beyti for your next celebration- you wont regret it.
This is definitely one of the best Turkish restaurants in Northern Jersey. This is the perfect place to take your family for some Sunday dinner. My family has been coming here for a few years now.
All the meats are good , including the kebabs and lamb chops, probably being the best. They start you off with fresh warm bread and it is unlike any other place I have ever been. The lentil soup is not recommended, I've had much better in other locations. If you have a sweet tooth there baklava is tasty as well.
The service is overall good, I have no complaints if you decide to dine in.

All of the items above are consistently fresh and delicious all times i have been to Beyti. the bread is the best. especially if you soak it in the excess oil and vinegar from the salad. i love the gyro meat and the lamb patties (bf loves the chicken). portions are very generous and prices are reasonable.
Ambiance is lacking, but space is huge and rarely a wait.
Things i don't like: outdated/seedy/unwelcoming decor, service is slow and unenthusiastic, desserts are doused in honey, you get nickel-and-dimed for any add ons or extra little things so be careful and check your bill
Asides from all that, food is great and very satisfying.
I had a combination platter for dinner that was very good (yet expensive at $25). I came back here a few weeks later for lunch. I ordered a Gyro and was told they couldn't do that because the Gyro wouldn't be ready till after 4 P.M. ?!?!?! What? Really?!?!? No Gyro at a Turkish restaurant during lunch?!?!? On what planet does that happen? I was then told I could order anything else off their dinner menu (for lunch). Sadly most of the items include Gyro so I walked out and went to the Greek Taverna in Edgewater….what do you know, they had Gyro ready for the lunch crowd!!! Beyti is very tasty but I have not been back since the lunch ordeal.
Beyti Kabob is a phenomenal restaurant. I had the pleasure of ordering dates from there. The staff was extremely kind and courteous. I can't wait to come back here to eat.
I absolutely love Beyti Kebob. I have been going here since I was a young girl. There are different owners, but the new owners I think got it better than the last ones in some ways! The service isn't the same… but they are fast. There used to be a more family feel, but it might not be the style they're going for.
We always order a chicken combination platter with adana or gyro. The chicken is JUICY and moist. I also like the shepherd's salad. The last owner used more cilantro and lemon, and less olive oil. They also cut the cucumber and tomatoes smaller, and I really MISS the salad. But, they also do a decent job.
The portions are ample. We usually always end up taking stuff back home, even when we thought we under-ordered.
Lentil soup was good.
Ambiance- B+ ( a little cold with the tiles, BUT, a lot of art and good color).
Service- B (they can definitely smile a bit more)
Food- A… !
Excellent lunch special – for $15, you get an appetizer, entree, and drink. And WHOA, HUGE portions. Great, friendly service.
DON'T MISS:
– Tarama (great flavor, exceptional portion)
ENJOYED:
– Lamb kebab with rice. The rice was super tasty, and the plate came with a grilled tomato and grilled pepper (spicy). Excellent, esp with squeeze of lemon.
NOT SUCH A FAN OF:
– The Turkish Coffee wasn't very well prepared; lots of grounds throughout the cup, instead of all collected at the bottom. Still delicious, though.
-Fillo cigars were mediocre – fried and simple cheese delivery method. Not my thing.
I had heard a lot about this place over years & my friend in Edgewater especially raves about it. So we came for dinner with a small group of friends. Very casual, not much of an ambiance, no-frills kinda place.
Food was good, generous portions but nothing that blew me away. I've had better.
Inexpensive. Overall, OK but nothing I would go out of my way for.
