  1. I came back and hands down 5 stars!  Everything was cooked perfectly, the service was great and all 9 attendees loved their meals from the Ladies Night menu.

Chicken Francaise  was my choice.  The chicken was a nice sized portion with a sauce that was so scrumptious I could have drank shots of it!  Accompanied by mashed potatoes and vegetables, that were preceded by a small salad it was the perfect meal for me.

We tried the calamari for appetizer, it was cooked perfectly, fresh and very tender.  The meatball sliders were also very good along with the eggplant.

    So glad I returned

  2. REALLY liked this place! Been trying to get a reservation and it seems everytime I have the time to go, its fully booked. After going there finally I saw that its a small place hence why its pretty hard to get a reservation on a popular night. It is upstairs from the Palermo Bakery. Beautifully decorated with pretty lighting, tables in the middle and big, plush booths around the sides of the room. We arrived a little late and were asked to wait at the bar while a table became free. We only waited about 20 minutes. The bartender Roscoe was pleasant and funny and made a delicious vodka drink he called the Bellini-Tini. The restaurant was busy as was the bar area. There was a live singer there (I believe his name was Drew). He had a great voice and sang from Frank Sinatra to Bruce Springstein and took requests. he made a round through the restaurant asking if anyone had requests. I told him I was a heavy metal girl so didnt think it would work for that night.
Our waiter, Charlie, was also very nice and polite. He told us the specials and help with recommendations. They brought out the most delicious bread to the table (almost like a small pizza).
    Our party of four ordered:
    Appetizers:
    -stuffed artichoke (A+)
-pasta stuffed with pear and gorgonzola (A+)
    Dinner:
-Orecchietti Freddie: Sausage, Cherry Tomatoes and Shitake Mushrooms (B+)
I wanted to try the Nonna's Sunday sauce but was told they were out of meatballs.
-A salmon special that was wrapped in some kind of pastry (B+ pastry was yummy but the salmon could have used more flavor)
-A porkchop special. Cant remember what it was but my friend said it was delicious
-Shrimp Fra Diavolo with gluten free pasta. Friend said she also enjoyed this dish and was grateful they had a gluten free option.
We were too full to have dessert but we all ordered coffee and a plate of biscotti came out with the coffee (nice touch).
I had to give it only 4 stars because the wait for the entrees took a long time.
Other than that the place was great, service was fantastic and the food and drinks were delicious!

  3. First off, I'd like to thank Joanne of Palermos Bakery for including a complimentary cake with my birthday dinner. Second, a bigger thanks to our wonderful waiter, Jerry, for dealing with my large party and being so patient and attentive. Lastly, the live entertainment blew us all away! The guy (forget his name) was so talented. He definitely knew how to make my night special by shouting me out plenty of times. He sounded just like Frank Sinatra! He is such a great asset to your business.

The Cake Lounge is truly a wonderful restaurant and its great reputation is very well deserved. The atmosphere is ideal and there is a relax and enjoy feeling once you enter.
Service was second to none and our waiter Jerry, was all too pleased to serve my party of 14.

Our food was superb along with a wonderful selection of drinks we each chose. The Martinis are to die for especially the Mango Cupcake, Lemon, and Nutella Martini.

I have included The Cake Lounge on my top list of restaurants that I certainly will be coming back to. My guests were very impressed and enjoyed themselves. THANK YOU, CAKE LOUNGE!!!!

  4. I was tasked at the 11th hour to identify a nice Italian restaurant to take our out-of-town Sales Executives/VP's to. Well, color me panicked!  The Cake Lounge is just minutes from our facility in Teterboro and I decided that this would be the venue. I had dined at Palermo's but never upstairs at the Cake Lounge. Caution was thrown to the wind and we headed down Route 46.

The atmosphere was beautiful and it was quite busy for a rainy Tuesday night. Pretty bar area, attractive dining space, white leather seating, black accents. Swanktastic! This space is very impressive.

Our appetizers for the table included the arancini (rice balls), stuffed artichoke, and bufala mozzarella (prosciutto and roasted peppers). Each app was better than the next. Portions were large enough to share amongst the table, and the warm bread/rosemary-infused olive oil didn't stand a chance.

Our entrees included the lamb, gnocchi bolognese (2), ravioli, and the short ribs with pappardelle. The ribs were super-tender but I was hoping for red gravy instead of brown gravy. Regardless, it was very good.

I tried my best with the food photos, but I support these senior-level folks from a Human Resources perspective, and the last thing I needed was for them to think I was capturing pictures of their entrée choices to report back to my VP ("Melissa ordered the filet…the FILET!!!"). By the time dessert was served (Lobster tails for the table, baked downstairs, excellent!) and the Limoncello was flowing, we were all singing the praises of Yelp. How appropriate to bond over good food, good drinks, and Yelp, eh?

Thank you, Cake Lounge, for fancying me as the local superstar in the eyes of these discerning Executives. Maybe they'll surprise me with a raise.

  5. So I came here Saturday 3/5/16 to celebrate my boyfriend birthday with friends and family. My boyfriend and o came here about 3 months ago for dinner and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere, so we decided to come back for his birthday.

There was 10 of us. Upon arriving table was prepared and ready for seating. Unfortunately some party members came late, but the restaurant was accommodating and held our table until majority of guest arrived so we can sit. Mostly everyone enjoyed there meal, except one, as she ordered a plate of oysters (not realizing it was just oysters).

The only negative was that service was a bit slow at the end. It took forever to get the check, and we had to leave for another event. That really irritated me as I asked nicely for the check once our entrees arrived and we didn't get the check until about 30 minutes later.

  6. I had one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had here, which says a lot. The linguini with white clam sauce was absolutely delicious! (Picture provided). The noodles were perfectly al dente, and they gave a generous portion of clams.

The complimentary bread and focaccia was warm, crispy, and chewy, and the focaccia was like a mini Sicilian pizza which was appreciated.

The service was relatively quick and cordial. It's worth noting that if you're coming here with a Groupon, the lunch specials cannot be combined with it, or else they'll have to charge you full price.

Overall, I'd come back if I was in the area- the bakery downstairs has some tasty treats to pick up on your way out if you have a sweet tooth.
