This place earned a serious place in my heart upon first arriving here in Jersey. With their ever extensive authentic Mexican menu. Unfortunately they have earned their eek factor award upon finding a hair in a sopes that was ordered. Sorry it was not part of the ingredients and I am eternally grossed out, might need a few months to consider them again even though it was an accident. However the great part of yelp is that second chances are granted and forgiven, however I cannot overlook the hair at the time being since it's a factor to the eek. Will overpass for the time being.
I was in the mood for Mexican food and I read so many good reviews for this place so I decided to give it a try. The place is very simple on the inside. I tried the steak tacos, steak tostada and chorizo torta. I also had one of their fresh lemonade. I really enjoyed the lemonade and thought the torta was super flavorful. However I wasn't a fan of the quality and taste of the steak. I didn't really enjoy the tacos and the tostada was good but I felt like it was missing something. I wish they had like a pico de gallo or other tomato based salsa. Prices were great though.
I was in the area and decided to give this place a try for lunch. We were given free chips and salsa. The chips were very tasty and the salsa was chipotle based, very unique. We ordered the Cecina tacos which are salted steak tacos with a side of guacamole. This was so fresh and super delicious! The best cecina tacos I have ever had. We finished with tres leches and flan. Both were so good! The tres leches was not runny like most and was closer to a moist pound cake. It was Amazing! I really loved this place. The food and the service were both excellent. I could honestly say it is the best authentic Mexican food I have had in a very long time. If you are in the area I recommend you run not walk to this place it's that good.
I contemplated writing this review because I am a selfish bastard and like keeping good things to myself but I do have a duty to the Yelp community and with my luck, if I didn't share this, the place would probably close down.
Anyways, I don't need to say much. I've eaten at many taco places in northern NJ in search of the best taco and I think I've finally found it. Not only are their tacos delicious, but I actually prefer eating their sopecitos and empanadas. The meat quality and quantity is excellent! I also think their two sauces (salsas) are tasty and flavorful. I appreciate them cause they're not overwhelming spicy to the point I find my mouth on fire. In addition, the salsas also come with sour cream which I haven't seen other places do either.
Oh yeah, it's BYOB too.
I don't give 5 star reviews often, but when I do, the places are legit.
This place has great tasting Mexican food at an unbeatable price. Also they deliver FAST! We ordered from here twice so far and got our food in about a half hour/forty-five minutes and it tasted great.
