Arirang Hibachi Steakhouse
“Great happy hour with half off drinks, and they have a drink that favors a Long Island Ice Tea type called a Zombie.”
“Sometimes, as it turns out, it's not the quality food or entertainment that make going there an experience to remember.”
“The steak and chicken with fried rice was grilled to perfection actually medium rare for me pink in the middle….yummy.”

Not really what I was expecting.
The concept of this place is enticing and intriguing but it doesn't live up to the hype. The chef we had was talented but lacked the flare and energy needed for us to all have a spectacular time.
I came here for a birthday event last evening and was expecting the restaurant to have more of a wow factor but it paled in comparison to what the description of this restaurant is. I was expecting the fried rice to be some of the best I've ever had and turns out it was actually below average of what I usually have.
The drinks here are pretty good and strong and they have a few that are creeper drinks like the Cupid, for $9. The staff is pretty nice and friendly. The food was only "okay" and my friend had to send back an order that came out borderline cold. Additionally, the chef didn't bring enough rice to make my order of scallops with rice so they had to make the rice in the back and bring it out to me after he was done with the show, which annoyed me because my particular rice was not made in front of me like it was for everyone else all because the chef forgot.
With that being said, there's nothing particularly special about this place. It is a decent establishment but not sure I would recommend this place and not sure I would come back here.
I was so impressed with this place. We had reservations for 6p and when we got there it was still pretty empty which was good bc by the time we left it got really crowded and super loud. It was your standard hibachi steakhouse. Cook comes, does a little show, nothing new. But the food was better than other hibachi restaurants I've been to. It was great! Would definitely come back. Valet service was quick too.
I visit frequently for the food, not the entertainment. So, I never have to wait.
This place is usually packed, but if you want to eat without a show, you can be seated downstairs in the private dining area immediately at no extra cost. I personally think that the food tastes better this way because the focus is more on the taste rather than the show.
I usually order the Arirang Favorites Steak and Scallops. This is a whole meal for $23, which includes:
Traditional Soup- Chicken broth with mushroom and scallion. Light and delicious. I like to add a few drops of low sodium soy sauce.
Salad- There's a choice between ginger or orange dressing. I always go with ginger. It's the best ginger dressing ever! I haven't had any like it.
Steak and Scallops- Hibachi grilled steak cubes, scallops, shrimp, mushrooms, onions, cucumbers, carrots, and bean sprouts. This is served with two dipping sauces. I usually mix the sauces together.
Rice- I'm usually not a fan of fried rice, but there's something special about this one. It's unlike any other. I like to have eggs in mine.
Ice Cream- One large scoop of vanilla, chocolate, green tea, red bean, or orange sherbet. To be honest, the green tea and red bean doesn't taste authentic. I would recommend sticking with vanilla or chocolate. They won't disappoint.
This meal is super filling. I always leave feeling satisfied beyond belief.
I don't usually like hibachi, but this place was pretty good. I went with a girlfriend and the hostess addressed us right away when we walked in the door. However, when we were brought to our table, we sat there for a good 20 minutes before we were even offered drinks. Needless to say, there is a bit of a lag between getting sat down and ordering.
I ordered the steak and chicken and my friend ordered the shrimp and chicken. The hibachi chef was very entertaining and interactive – definitely one of the better ones I've come across. Our favorite was when he made the fried rice look like Lady Gaga.
The clear soup was good but mine only had one mushroom floating at the top! Also, there was another unidentifiable vegetable in it; it didn't taste bad, we just didn't know what it was. The salads were delicious; I got the orange-lemon dressing and my friend got the ginger. As far as the entrees go, the sauce and seasoning on the proteins were all the same so there was a mundane, but tasty flavor throughout. The vegetables were cooked just enough so they still had a little bit of a crunch to them. We both got white rice and it was chewer than regular white rice, which we loved! I just want to add that it was nice of the chef to offer mushrooms and beansprouts to us as extras, which I gladly took.
For dessert, we had red bean and vanilla ice cream. They were a little icy – how ice cream gets when there's "freezer burn." But nonetheless, it was the perfect ending to our meal. Both flavors were great!
The price was fantastic! A soup, salad, entree with rice, and ice cream was $22.99. Of course, the pricing depends on the meats (or lack thereof) you order.
A final note – it was very admirable that the owner came around to our table to thank us for dining with Arirang. It gives that special touch.
I've been coming to this location for years and I've never had a bad meal. The wait can be a bit long sometimes, especially if you come on a weekend and you are requesting to sit at the Hibachi table. The wait can be shorter if you request a regular table- but what's the point of coming to a place like this if you sit at a regular table? Anyway, I always get the same thing- Hibachi Chicken with fried rice and miso soup instead of the clear soup. Their miso soup is amazing and their lemon orange dressing is really good. The serving size is quite big, I don't think I've ever been able to finish everything. One tip- if you can, request Chef Moody- he is awesome!! And definitely worth the wait!
I honestly don't know why this place doesn't have a higher rating. I love this place. Have been going since I was a kid. GREAT food, amazing staff, and a lot of fun. Can the prices be cheaper? Sure but it's all about the experience.
Tip: If you are a fried rice lover like myself, you need to get it here. They make some of the best I have ever had.
Enjoy!
Came here on a Sunday night with two girlfriends for dinner. Waited about 20 minutes, went to the bar downstairs had a drink while waiting. The bartender was also the server at all the tables downstairs which I thought wasn't good, because he was in rush mode. When he came to get our drink order, my friend was still deciding and he was like," come on, it has to be now". Ummm maybe they should just hire a bartender and a waiter. We finally got buzzed up, went upstairs were seated with a family. I personally think it's a good time if you haven't been to Hibachi in like a few years, but not every time. Pretty funny chef, very interactive, it just took a while for my chicken to be done. I wish they served the rice with the chicken instead of the rice first, because rice is very filling. It was average, nothing to really brag about. Average food. I'd have to be in the mood to come back.
This is the type of place that you come to once for the thrills, and then forget about it. It's expensive to sit in front of the hibachi, but that's expected. It's the same show they've been doing for probably about as long as they are open. So once you see it once there's no need to waste the fee of sitting in front of the grill. You can sit at a regular table for about half the price. The food is okay, not great but not bad. If you've never been to hibachi though I would try it at least once to say you did it.
