  1. So I actually really like Dos Caminos.

I have heard about it before, most notably from an episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians  I think, and never made the effort to go. But a friend invited me to happy hour there and I'm so glad she did.

First and foremost there are happy hour deals on food and drink. Major plus in my book because I love a happy hour drink as much as the next person, but food is my first love.

I like the atmosphere/decor. I think it is fun and a little different. It has outdoor seating which is great for the summer.

Also I really like that you see a diverse crowd of people there.

    Other pros:

    The food tastes good

The small guacamole is rather large

The outdoor seating is a little enclosed around the sides so it feels a little cozy

I've gone back again and plan to go back later this month – which is rare for me. There are so many places to try that I often try to go to new places each time I go out. But I plan on keeping Dos Caminos as a go-to happy hour spot, especially since there are many locations all over the city.

    I highly recommend!

  2. I visited two locations of this place on my last trip to NYC and was very happy with it. They have great drink specials including on Sunday your first drink was free along with any meal. I ordered the chips and guacamole which comes with a trio of salsas, the chips are fresh and crispy and the salsa is really good. I am not a guacamole guy but my coworkers enjoyed it. We also got the Spanish chorizo with queso which was excellent. I ordered a trio of tacos for my main dish, the tacos aren't that big so I would recommend getting a few appetizers to pick on, but overall they are really good. Both locations I visited provided great service as well.

  3. Mediocre experience at best. We arrived at 6pm on a Friday night and asked for a table for 4 people. There were plenty of tables available both inside and outside. We decided to sit outside since it was a nice night. Note: happy hour deal only at the bar area.

Our waitress was good. Answered our questions about the menu and was prompt throughout our meal. We ordered a pitcher of red sangria and a large guacamole as an app (small guacamole is one avocado, large is two). The large was the perfect amount for four people!

For dinner two of us got the baja tacos $20 (which has steak, shrimp, bacon guacamole, and some spicy aioli) and two of us got the enchiladas. Unfortunately both enchiladas plates came out completely cold and were sent back. The waitress and staff sincerely apologized and fixed the mistake. All the food was very tasteful however portion sizes were on the smaller side.

Overall, good Mexican food. Good guacamole. If I'm close I'll stop by but not rushing back.

  4. With such great weather my bestie wanted to eat here on the patio, we had a bit of a wait for the patio but not too bad.  We ordered the guac as my friend said it was some of the best she's ever had, and I ordered the mahi mahi salad which was pretty good.  The guac was average but we also added shrimp with some type of veggies and that made it a little better but it was definitely not the best I've ever had.  A free prickly pear shot is free with check in which was enough for me as it was way too strong.

  5. Came here with a friend for Friday happy hour and I had a blast. The music was very good and their service is on point. I had higher expectations for the margaritas but they're strong enough to kick you into a very boozy and party mood. I love the vibe of the place and their pricing is good!

  6. Dos Caminos doesn't have the most amazing Mexican food or drinks (I'd say a solid 3 given the price) but I give this location an extra star for the outdoor space/ambiance during the summer.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon and the patio was the perfect shady area to have a snack and some drinks. Lively atmosphere in a laid back setting. Great for people watching (it was especially good when we came thanks to Pride week festivities)!

Frozen margaritas were strong. Guacamole isn't the best but good enough. Appetizers were good but small portions. Service was fine, nothing spectacular. They had TVs above the bar area playing the Euro cup games.

  7. After work, I decided to wander around soho area before the yelp event at magnum. I failed to find a food truck and soon became quite hangry. Finally, by some miracle, I stumbled across Dos Caminos, just as their happy hour was about to end. Once I walked in, the hostess and I exchanged hellos and that's when it got real awkward. I stared at her for about 30 seconds and she stared right back and I said, "uhh..I've never done this before….table for one?" AWKWARD.

Another lady led me to my table and told me I wouldn't be able to sit outside or on a lower table for the happy hour. whatever, just gimme my food. So I ordered the taco duo which comes with 2 tacos: a slow roasted pork & a grilled chicken taco. I waited and waited…no sign of my food. As I grew more and more impatient, I decided to order the chips w/ guac. Both orders were $6, so not a bad deal. A random gentleman approached my table and started talking to me as my server was pouring me water. Thinking he was the owner, I conversed with him for quite some time until I realized he was just some rando eating at the restaurant. Oops.

Well anyways, I enjoyed my table for one. I finally got my food and initially I thought the chips & guac were good but that was because I was starving. Over time, I realized that they were pretty meh. There were huge avocado chunks in the guac, which I liked. As for the tacos, the slow roasted pork taco was delicious but the chicken taco was on the dry side and they put way too many beans in it. For the price, I'd say it's a good place to come for happy hour. I might come back with friends and get drinks here next time.

  8. Had dinner in the garden a few days ago and it was ok. The staff were very accommodating as we came in fairly close to closing and were completely welcomed. Half way through my veggie taco, I asked my friend how the veggie taco was because I hadn't tried it yet. She pointed out that I was eating it. Omg it was so tasteless I had no idea I'd even tried it. The chicken taco was so spicy but once I took off the spicy tomatoes it was also tasteless. We each had one drink, two tiny tacos and a shared appetizer and the bill was around $100. It was a bit too expensive for such bland food and small portions. Would come back to drinks, as both our margaritas were both great!
