I was really hoping to eat at A Sushi but due to it's tiny me and my two friends were unable too. It was disappointing because the reviews seemed legit. Hoping to go back soon and get a taste of this place.
This sushi restaurant is definitely our new go to in the area!! The food was delivered so quickly even prime time 7pm on a Saturday night. The sushi was delicious & each thing ordered was great. We got pork gyoza which was flavorful & perfectly crispy from being pan seared. The spicy crunchy tuna roll was really good, especially with their spicy mayo to dip it in. The spider roll & the shrimp tempura rolls were large & the soft shell crab & shrimp both crispy & fresh tasting. For take out sushi this is the best I've had in a while & will definitely order it again.
An average sushi spot… that one goes to only on Mondays when Sushi Time – the phenomenal sushi spot located down the street, is closed.
Good deal and close to our apartment. You can get 2 rolls for 8.50 or 3 rolls for 11.50 for lunch. It comes with miso soup or salad. They also have spider roll which my husband loved. The sushi tasted pretty fresh and the spider roll was still warm when it got to our table. The service was pretty good and she came over several times to ask us how our meal was. The total came out to 23.xx for 4 rolls. We got the spicy tuna, california and tuna avocado roll. The spider roll was not part of their lunch special and was $9 extra. I liked their spicy tuna roll, it was really good. I would definitely come back again for their lunch special!
Simple rolls have a large proportion of fish to rice. Awesome rolls! And a lunch special that runs during the weekend as well. Simple decor but comfortable seating.
Stopped by for dinner tonight hoping that it was a decent Japanese restaurant, since it earned itself a whopping 4 stars on Yelp. Unfortunately we walked in and found ourselves in a fast-food looking sushi joint. The establishment itself is small and modern looking, with bright orange chairs and decent ambience. My other half asked our server if there was a restroom he could use, and the response was "sorry, no, go to Shake Shack (smile)." If it wasn't for that smile we probably would've left. What dine-in doesn't have a restroom for their customers?? To add to that, we weren't provided with water. We had to place an order for bottled drinks. Anyway, so we opted for the sushi and sashimi entree for 2 that came with your choice of salad or soup. It wasn't horrible but there were pieces of sashimi that weren't fresh. The lemon dressing on my salad also tasted like lemon + melted plastic wrap. I definitely over-tipped them. Hopefully they would use the extra tips to slowly build a restroom.
A Sushi is a casual and small sushi joint on Austin Street for those who want good sushi on a budget, to-go. There are 4 tables inside for those who would like to dine-in.
The lunch special is definitely worth the deal. My favorite sushi items are california roll, avocado salmon, and salmon roll. Avoid the avocado roll that comes with just rice and avocado inside seaweed wrap. Not really enjoyable to eat.
I've been here for takeout before, and then returned to dine in yesterday on a quick lunch date. Their lunch special isn't bad, not a huge selection on what you can order but the sushi is really good and really fresh. I will admit that I'm a little spoiled, being that I frequent AYCE sushi places that allow you to order specialty rolls instead of the basic rolls so I may be a tough critic. I will say that the service was good and I can't complain about the quality of the food. This place is small inside and could use some updates. It's tough because I haven't tried any other sushi restaurants in the area yet so I don't have much to compare to, but I'll update when I do!
