  1. I had the chirashi and the fish was underwhelming.  I didn't expect much since this area is a food wasteland.  My biggest gripe about Azuki were the employees speaking/arguing in Chinese.  Although I didn't understand them, I felt uncomfortable being able to hear everything they said.

  2. While trying to cater an event for my company, last minute, one of my colleagues decided we should include sushi in the mix.  However, due to the various dietary preferences we were catering to, our only option was to go vegetarian.  After extensive Seamless research, I found Azuki offered a Vegetarian Party Tray, just in our budget.

I'm always skeptical of veggie sushi because I'm a sucker for some good ol' raw fish, however, Azuki's impressed me!  The variety was great, presentation was on point, and they were on time with delivery…not to mention decently priced!  I'm a fan, Azuki, I'm a fan.

  3. Holy Bento Box!  Ton of food for an awesome price… I got the Chicken Teriyaki Box and the hubs got the Beef version.  Both come with a whole Cali Roll, 4 dumplings, edamame, rice, and a full serving of salad.

Food was good, nothing was under-seasoned,  and we left SUPER full — but it isn't anything we haven't had before.  Prices are great, only $15 for our boxes and the sushi options weren't crazy expensive either.

Service was good and I loved the atmosphere of the place, low lighting, very comfortable booths, sushi station in the middle of the room.

  4. My friend and I were roaming the streets of NYC when we saw this little sushi place. Being from the Midwest, we had high hopes for better sushi since we were visiting a costal state. Loved it! Rolls are never my thing, but the sashimi platter we got was a nice surprise. For what we paid, we got a much bigger portion size than we expected. Had to ask for a leftover box.

  5. Excellant spot for lunch! Lunch specials are as cheap as 8 to 14$. but they come out super fast! The rolls are on the small side to be honest, and ive deff tasted fresher. Miso soup is okay. I think the key here is the fact that they are quick and give great service, especially during 12 to 2 pm

  6. Solid lunch spot if you're willing to venture out in Midtown and battle the masses along 8th Ave. It's a tiny little storefront, but has quick service, tons of options, lunch specials and specialty rolls. Nothing too crazy, but cheap enough and decent enough to continue coming back.

  7. Extremely crowded during the weekday lunch rush.  Chicken, shrimp or beef teriyaki bento box lunch special are all a good deal at $10.  Plenty of food and decent quality.  Sushi wasn't as tasty, unfortunately.

Tables are packed in tight, so be prepared to sit on top of your neighbor.  Pretty typical for this neighborhood and the city in general.

  8. Huge portions for the right price. I ordered the Azuki roll which was delicious. I asked for the multi-grain rice instead of white rice – really yummy. Very fresh fish. I also had the seaweed salad which was good. I came here for lunch alone and the service was fast and nice. The place was moderately busy. I would come back!
