I came back again and was pleasantly surprised at the consistency of their food. The tempura was delicious as usual.
However, the service of one of the waitresses was not so great, hence the 2 stars. She was pretty rude, slamming dishes onto the table without a word. Seemed like she didn't want to be there. We were the only table seated, but the entire restaurant was filled with the loud chatter of her and the sushi chefs.
The hostess was however very friendly and kind.
To sum things up, the food was good and the service not so great.
I use to come here often three years ago and was very pleased until my recent visit. I called ahead of time and ordered a ginza & spicy kani roll. I went in to pick up my order about 20 minutes later and the waitress who approached me asked to take my order again. I noticed that the spicy kani roll was $5.75 instead of the $2.75 that i would normally pay for in other brooklyn sushi restaurant. I asked if i can cancel the spicy kani roll & if i can just get the lunch special. She told me they made it already so i told them it was fine. I waited another 10-15 minutes for my food and when i finally got the chance to eat it, it was so disappointment. The spicy kani roll had more mayo than anything else & the salmon in the ginza roll was tiny. It had more tempura flakes than the actual salmon. I will never go back here again and would not recommend it to anyone.
I actually like this place. Only serves sushi, some yakisoba and bento box meals. I ordered a chirashi bowl (13.95) and my friend ordered the sushi deluxe (12.95) (essentially we both ordered sashimi…)
Prices for sushi are cheap, and I'll definitely consider delivery since I live so close.
Sashimi tastes alright, I can't defend that it's fresh, but some of the flavor is still intact. Salmon is strong, tuna is slick, and the octopus is nice and crunchy.
Definitely will try their other sushis.
Dine in and had sushi to go from time to time at Fugu. The prices are definitely very cheap and the foods are yummy. However, I feel as if the rolls are small with not enough ingredients. Compare to other stores, I believe their rolls are a bit bigger. However their food are still pretty good and the atmosphere inside is usually very peaceful and quiet.
Our friends decided to order from here last night since Nagoya was no longer on seamless.
It was a big order, I understand, but that doesn't mean it's okay to decide what you want to put in the order. My fiancé ordered a 7 piece sushi plate, a shrimp and avocado roll, and a calamari roll. He received none of those. He received a 4 piece sushi box ($3 of sushi missing), a shrimp tempura roll (I don't understand how you can get that wrong), and I think his calamari roll was correct.
I ordered gyoza, which were good, and a larger portion of 6 than I expected for the price tag. I also ordered 2 rolls, a spicy salmon and a spicy tuna. They were overwhelmingly spicy and the only time I've ever encountered that was when the fish was less than fresh. I'm glad the rolls were only $3/ea or I would have been pissed. My fiancé ate my portion when we got home.
Just be careful or what you order and perhaps of what time you do so, I understand we ordered late, but if you chose to be open then, you should still be delivering your best.
This is a very good sushi joint with fresh fish and good size plates. Prices are very reasonable and they give a heaping serving of wasabi. Didn't even need to ask for extra! Slices of the sashimi are thick, but I can deal with it. Not too crowded, but also not empty. Their teriyaki smelled great, so I may try that next time I'm in the area. They have fried ice cream, of the tempura kind. Only complaint is they have some pop playlist consisting of Justin Beiber, Miley Cyrus, etc. on repeat. So if you're there longer than 30 minutes, you might get to hear the same song twice which is just meh.
Gave this a try because longvousjoy was full. Was pretty empty on a weekday and was seated promptly in the booth. Unlike a lot of what the other yelpers mentioned, we received our food rather quickly and our waiter was pretty nice.
I got the salmon lover, the fish was really fresh and delicious. No fishy taste, and the pieces of fish was generous. Our tea was constantly filled, which was a great plus. Prices are decent for the quality.
I haven't been in this area in a while, but I remembered there was a sushi place that I really liked, and I had been looking forward to having it again. I was really convinced that the restaurant was Fugu Sushi, but the place seemed really unfamiliar when I walked in, and that's when I realized it was Longevousjoy that I had been to previously. I still had hope that this sushi roll would be good, but I was utterly disappointed.
I ordered the lobster roll, which cost me about $11. I opened it up, and it was a measly 6 pieces. I was hoping for 8. I was immediately disappointed. Everything was bland and flavorless – the lobster, the tempura, the rice, the lettuce. It just didn't seem fresh. There was nothing good about it because there was nothing to taste. There wasn't even enough eel sauce on top to cover up the blandness. Like I said, utterly disappointed & still hungry! Not worth my $11.
