“I'm used to tiny little storefronts that make falafel sandwiches in front of you — and I don't even mind that so much because I like falafels.”

“Their french fries were also delicious even if they weren't as crispy as when fresh (I ordered delivery).”

“I especially love the chicken kebab – and I am weird about my chicken.”

  1. BYOB!

K now that we got that out of the way…

This place is small and always packed. The service is good, place is cute, and clean. Onto the food. I had the lentil soup which was a little too watery for my like, but the taste is right on point. The Felafel was a little bland so I threw it in my lentil soup to add some texture and made the best of it. What I truly enjoyed is what my husband picked, the shawarma (gyro); he always picks the better dish. If you come here I totally say get it because it's so flavorful and filling. I also recommend u get the moussaka it's like eggplant and cheese ecstasy. I love eggplant and this place makes it really well, it taste like a light lasagna.

it's pretty cool to have a place like this in Madison, I love Mediterranean food. We for sure will be back soon.

  2. Been to this nice Madison spot twice. The service is friendly, the food comes out promptly and what comes out is delicious.

Beef and lamb schawarma for me. Epic fries my first visit. They were changed to adequate shoestrings the second. We asked them to change back to the original. And they did!

On both occasions, I got to go orders for my wife, a seasoned foodie and she loved every bite of what I brought home.

So go to this great neighborhood spot. Highly recommended.

  3. We are the only table at 1:00pm on Saturday. It is a really quite place while staff and owners are studying next to us. This is the most expensive Mideast restaurant we ever visited.

The starter pita is hot and tasty. Our platters of lamb, chicken, and beef kabab are chucky and large. The meat were perfectly cooked, tender inside and charcoaled outside. The saltiness is well balanced with meat flavor.

    A good stop for lunch.

  4. Ok only sad I didn't try this place earlier. Great lunch deal: for $11.99 you order an entree from a lunch menu with 2 sides and a drink. And the portions are filling! Very delicious.

I had the chicken shwarma, cous cous and salad. I loved every bite of it. The chicken was moist and flavorful and came with this great white sauce. The cous cous was  well seasoned and cooked perfectly. PLUS they have this really tasty hot sauce that I'm assuming is homemade.

Super small space – tight fit for the 11 of us who went but we made it work! I'm looking forward to trying more on the menu.

  5. It pains to do this but I have since been to Biladi Grill 2x in the past 2 weeks and each time the food was inedible.
It was over seasoned to a point that if I scraped off the seasoning I would be able to fill up a salt shaker (exaggerating but not really).
The chicken was gross…fatty and chunky tasting…
The lamb, which my wife loved, was over seasoned (both times) and stringy.
I really liked this place months ago but it has gone down hill…we have officially crossed this off our return lists.
Plus it was expensive…$35 for two kebabs…which would be lunch size portions elsewhere. No thanks…

  6. We love, love, love this place!

It's small so make reservations, because it has been very popular on weekends lately. Everything we've tried has been great. I especially love the chicken kebab – and I am weird about my chicken. It's very hard to find a chicken dish I like… and this is IT!!!

The owner/manager (not sure which?) also gave my toddler free rice pudding which was really sweet. No pun intended.

    We'll be back!!

  7. Unusually,I'm going to start with our waitress who was charming accommodating and an asset to the restaurant. The restaurant itself is small but nicely appointed.I went for lunch on a Saturday. We had the cigare appetizers, which were good.I had lamb-beef gyro(schwarma). My wife had falafel. The falafel was quite good.My sandwich was also pretty good. Two flaws: 1) the tahini dressing tasted like it had mayonnaise in it.No disaster by a long shot but not what you want 2) the baklava was burnt on the bottom.I enjoyed coming here and would go back. The aforementioned flaws were minor and the place is cheap !
