  1. Ehhhh. Why is this place so expensive? Given the fact that there's tons of Mexican spots in the area, the food was really underwhelming for $15/per plate (roughly). Like, fajitas were good…but they weren't mind blowing. In fact, I didn't even finish my meal. That was probably because karaoke night (Thursday) was making my ears bleed. They should probably have a separate room for that madness. I had sangria….and was also underwhelmed. I probably won't be back. No shade, just not really my flava.

  2. Customer Service is an epic fail here! They have specials for the bar but you'll never get the service because the women they hire for the bar are to busy texting to want to make your drink and when you decide to say hey did you hear me, are you going to make my drinks the girl at the bar gets a fierce attitude and gives you the look of sheer disgust for having disturbed her.

We ended up walking out after going to the manager to explain what we thought was shockingly extreme rude behavior and very poor customer service! The manager did call the girl to the side to speak with her about our complaint but at this point we felt it was best to take our business elsewhere and left the one drink she reluctantly made 15 minutes later on the bar.

Why eat at a place where your patronage is met with frustration and blatant attitude?  There  are many places in Ridgewood to have cocktails and food where your treated with common courtesy and respect skip, this place altogether!

    It's a wrap!

  3. This restaurant could easily be better. The food is fine, big portions but otherwise nothing special. The flavored margaritas are tasty. But the service is really frustrating. My mom and I both ordered tacos with some special requests (hers with only lettuce/cheese toppings, mine with all the regular toppings just no cheese). Hers was made correctly, but then when mine came out the waiter delivered it explaining the kitchen "made it differently for some reason" and then asking me if I still wanted what I'd asked for. Um…yes? Why wouldn't you just assume that and, you know, get them to prepare it the way I asked? They also forgot the salad that was supposed to come with mine so I had to ask for it, and we were constantly asking for water refills because they kept forgetting to bring water.

I think maybe to make up for the service, they brought out 4 tequila shots at the end of the meal for the 4 out of 7 of us who'd had a margarita. I know this would usually seem like a positive thing, but it was 3pm on a Sunday and 2 of those four people were driving home, so it was a little awkward. Not that I'm holding it against them, I would just suggest saving your tequila for groups more likely to appreciate it.

I think there aren't many places in the neighborhood that fit the "big plates + margarita pitchers" niche so I get why my family likes it, but there's definitely room to improve.

  4. One of my favorite spots to come to for lunch. After 5 Burros this is my fave Mexican Restaurant. Great affordable lunch menu but if you want to share the plate they charge $7, they always have one guy working the entire floor during lunch and when theres a special occasion such as World Cup or Cinco de Mayo they have more men on the floor but it takes them longer to take care of you.  Very good margaritas, my fave dishes are the chicken chimichangas and the shrimp quesadilla, as a matter a fact anything shrimp.

  5. I have been here a couple times and I'm a fan! My friend and I also come here to catch up and have a couple drinks.

The food is amazing!! They have great Guacamole!!!! and if you like it spicy just make sure to tell them they will make it just right for you! They have a great Ceviche de Camaron, Super Chimichanga, and an amazing Super Burrito!! I recommend anything from the menu.

They also have a great alcohol selection and they are not stingy on the amount of alcohol they put in your right so you really get your money worth!

Highly recommend you going there to have some great authentic Mexican style food and they decor is pretty cool too.

  6. So i came here for a romantic dinner with my boyfriend. This place is actually pretty casual and is good for families too. For starters we got salsa and chips , salsa wasnt too spicy and it was on the house. We got a huge pitcher of red sangria for 25 bucks, ot was ice cold and not too sweet, filled with tons of fruits. We got a table and a waiter right away, excellent service he was more then happy to explain all the menu items. The entire menu is mexican from fajitas to quesadillas and enchiladas to burritos along with flautas and tacos to seafood dishes. There is also a kids menu and dessert menu. Anyway i ordered a super chicken burrito with tostones on the side, and wow the burrito was huge filled with rice beans and veggies with a side of guac and salad. It had perfectly seasoned rice and chicken, not too spicy or messy either. My bfs dish was the ranchero combo with flautas and sausage with grilled veggies it came
Out on an actual mini grill, hot and delicious and huge portions we had to take it home! The sausage was perfectly
Seasoned and plentiful! The tostones were alot
Larger then i expected they were the size of my palm! We ate so much that we had no room for dessert. Today there was no live music by the bar instead the world
Cup was playing. This place was super packed but the way the tables are set up theres plenty of space. Caution, they only take visa
Or mastercards, to share a dish is a 7.00 dollar charge and a refill for chips and salsa is 2.00 bucks so these dumb fees hold me back from giving 5 stars. But at least the bathrooms are decent. For two people with two plates a side and a pitcher with tip we spent 70
    Not bad at all!

  7. Fahita Sunrise if my FAVORITE Restaurant!

I have been here several times and the platters are consistently Scrumptious! The place is almost hidden along Myrtle Avenue.  There are no restaurants like this in the area and its a shame.

The dishes are authentic, full of amazing flavors and never over done. The service is consistently sharp.

I have no complaints. Its good for families, groups and romantic for couples.

  8. Came here with a friend to try somewhere local near my neighborhood.  Ran across this restaurant and wasnt expecting much for my neighborhood which isnt that well known for its food.  While we were there, there was live music from a guy singing from a Karaoke screen which sound fine and it wasnt overally loud.

However, we were pleasantly surprised.  We ordered the following:

Fajitas Sunrise marinated sizzling plate w/ Chicken – Came in a sizzling plate with soft flour tortilla to wrap the stuff in.  It was very tasty and chicken wasnt dry.  Could have used just one more flour tortilla but otherwise it was great.  It was actually very big and I couldnt finish it so had to bring it home.

My friend ordered the Enchiladas Rojas.  She stated it was good.  I cant vouch for it since I didnt try to taste it because it had cheese in it and I am not a big fan of cheese.

They provided chips and salsa which was good to have and I ordered a coffee as well which was strong but good!

Overall I really enjoyed eating here and would recommend it.
