  1. Truly one of the best brunches in town. It's affordable, the atmosphere is great, it doesn't get to loud, and the food is phenomenal. They had a new menu when I visited this past Sunday and I was excited to try some things out. The old favorites are still there, so don't worry about not being able to order your favorite cinnamon rolls or indulge in the best bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. Some highlights from the new menu include the green goddess salad as an app (sugar snap peas, watercress, peaches, and parmesan cheese in green goddess dressing) and the roasted chicken with quinoa and vegetables.

I'm impressed every time I come here! I need to try this place for lunch/dinner sometime.

  2. Amazing food here. Everything I have ever had totally hit the spot. Great selection of wine, meats, cheese and cocktails. I really love the mediterannean twist and recommend the labne and brussels sprouts  but the menu changes seasonally. Also awesome were the desserts-chocolate tart and olive oil cake.

  3. Hundred Acres has the best staff, ambiance and food. I absolutely adore this place.

Love that you can make a reservation for brunch! I've also had a dinner event for 40 people in the back room, and the price was reasonable, with amazing food. I would totally recommend this place for just about any occasion – from casual to fancier.

I recommend the deviled eggs, beignets, the poached eggs (spicy!) AND ALL OF THE COCKTAILS.

  4. Good brunch–I got the French toast and I liked the sauce and apples it came with. However, we made it super clear we were in a rush and everything still came out super slowly. We got our coffees comped out of it, but it still caused some stress in the rush.

  5. Awesome brunch spot. The decor is very light and airy, and the service is good too. I came in the later side of brunch, 1:30 so it was starting to clear out but I can see it getting really crowded earlier.

The cinnamon rolls come highly recommended. They were phenomenal! I ordered the poached eggs with potatoes and they were also awesome. The spices they used in the dish were unlike anything I've had before and I really liked them. The music here was also really good. I know that's a weird thing to point out but sometimes brunch spots can miss the point on that.

Hundred Acres would be a good spot for a small birthday get together or a good place to take your out of town friends to show them the cool spots that New Yorkers brunch!

  6. Quick summary-
    Food: okay, nothing special
    Service: very good, fine
    Coffee: very decent
Atmosphere: beautiful visuals, terribly noisy for brunch
    —————————–
Met up with a few friends here for brunch at 11 am. We were seated in the inner room which was gorgeous, and peaceful at the beginning. Later, a lot more people arrived and then we had to shout across the table just to be heard 🙁

The service was decent- they will clear in between courses so don't be surprised!

    A bit about the food:

-Ricotta Beignets: not even worth calling beignets. They're not really fluffy or yeasty at all on the inside, they're custardy and tender. Not that that's a bad thing, but seriously, it's just not what a beignet is meant to be. The honey was nice and floral

-Mediterranean Plate: nicely poached eggs and nice crust on the falafel patty, shame it didn't taste like anything. The pita could have easily been store bought, and the tiny tiny salad was fresh with nice feta that wasn't too hard and salty. Generally boring and uninspired though.

-Lamb Merguez: not sure if this was clear on the menu, but this is not an authentic Merguez at all. The seasoning is not spiced enough, the texture is fairly loose. In fact, I tasted primarily Chinese five spice rather than cumin and harissa.

There's nothing wrong with the food here, but it's fairly insipid and safe. The service and coffee are good, the decor is very nice, but it's also super loud.

  7. This is a beautiful, meticulous dining experience in a sumptuous space. The service was thoughtful, reasonably frequent, and gracious. All the food was excellent. Let's hit the deets (02/06/2016):

Mi Nonna cocktail, 13 – reminiscent of a Manhattan
    Albarino, glass, 11
    Stracciatella, homemade, 13 – fresh mozzarella-like appetizer
Whole porgy, 26 – served head-on, skeleton removed, it was draped with an excellent sauce that was spicy in a way that complimented the flavor and texture of the fish. It made me want to have porgy again.
Lamb shank, 32 – a special that night, it was also served with a perfect sauce. The long-roasting gave it a delightful crust with a tender interior.
    Pinot noir, glass, 12
    TOTAL 129.55

    BONUS – beautiful decor
    BONUS – gracious service

  8. Food here was outstanding.  My wife and I loved the open faced bacon, egg, and cheese.  Very thick cuts of bacon make everything delicious and with this local hot sauce our server brought out, it was perfect.  The ricotta pancakes are a must try.  The sound heavy, but these were some of the lightest pancakes I've ever had and with the amazing texture and flavor of the caramelized oranges (which I'd never had before), vanilla whipped cream, and syrup, they were even better.  There were lots of interesting cocktails, although I didn't want to be the only one drinking at brunch so I held myself back.  As a man with a pregnant wife, I really appreciated the mocktail list as well.  Nice touch.  Would have loved to have tried the cinnamon rolls or beignets, but I didn't want to stuff myself too much.

The service was also some of the best I've experienced in awhile.  Very friendly and super accommodating.  When I asked for hot sauce, he brought out some Tobasco right away and I was very appreciative, but about 2 minutes later he showed up with a second bottle of this local hot sauce, even though I gave him no inclination that Tabasco was anything less than fine.  It told us he wasn't just trying to do the minimum and he was thinking of ways to make our experience as good as it could be even when he wasn't at the table with us.  Very cool.

The atmosphere was beautiful, especially in the back sunroom area.  Lots of light.  Nice decor.  It felt like we were outside even though it was chilly out.  Perfect setting for a brunch.

My one complaint would be the prices.  We spent more here on brunch Saturday than we did on two nice, but casual, restaurants we went to for dinner on Friday and Saturday.  If the prices had been lower I probably would have tried more and I'd be considering a 5-star.  I know nothing is cheap in New York, but there are restaurants that make it happen and a $21 burger is just too much, even for New York.

I would certainly recommend Hundred Acres to anyone looking for a good brunch in the city.  It was a great experience, had terrific food, service, and atmosphere, but bring some extra money with you, because it will cost you.
