I was here as part of an event so my review is limited. I can say that it's not in the best neighborhood, so don't even think about street parking. Valet is worth it. The place does get quite loud between its small size and constant birthday celebrations. The bar is small and no tap, just bottles. Happy hour is reasonably priced though, $4 for a cold bottle of Colombian beer.
The main part of this review is for the food. They get the authentic stuff right here. The crispy fried fish was my unquestionable favorite at our buffet. A close second for the chicken in white (dairy) sauce, and also some delicious meatballs that were heavy on the meat and flavor. The steak and mushroom dish was a bit weak due to the cheaper cuts of meat. The pasta was pretty good but definitely not authentic.
Overall my initial impression is at 3.5 stars, but I'd love to come back as a regular customer for a second chance.
The drinks and food are great. I love Thursday's night at this establishment because it is "karaoke" night. Friday nights a pretty good singer sings while you are eating.
Kind of fancy or Na? They have a valet parking area once you arrive…This noches was more a sports bar aside from others I have been too; they even have their own dj booth for constant music being played and bar area with flat screens for game watching….the meal prices at this ndc location were A few dollars more expensive than the ones up by me in union city and the portions were smaller..service was great and even so the food quality did not change! Still amazing and enjoyed my Saturday lunch there
Come here Thursday for Happy Hour (HH). You'll thank me later as Karaoke night will turn your frowns upside down! I prefer the bar and give the bar 4.5 stars. The restaurant as a whole is 3.5 star. The star of the place for me was the Sangria. During HH the sangria is $4 and its potent folks!
Last Thursday my Yelpy peeps and I decided to meet up and enjoy HH. During the night I realized I must up my game on Rosetta Stone as speaking Spanish here is golden. The karaoke was even in Spanish.
Drinks:
– HH drinks will set ya back $4-$5 greenbacks.
– I tried the traditional margarita and the sangria. By a landslide the Red sangria was a winner for me.
– Sangria hit the spot y'all. It was well made and had a nice kick. The fruit was fresh and you can tell it was soaking up the libations =). #winning @ $4 for HH.
– The margarita was $5 and refreshing. I was looking for the kick, but it was no where to be found for my taste buds.
Food:
– My go to at any Noches is the Bandeja Piasa. I decide to get the mini Piasa and it was good. The chicharrones weren't on point but overall it was good.
– The HH Noches sampler was $12 and offered a tasty tease of all finger foods Noches has to offer. I really enjoyed the tostones and avocado. Then the wings and finally the empanadas.
Entertainment:
– The karaoke was funny! Lauren sang well, Nasha encouraged the MC and Dalia had the sweet serenade from Maro! Maro is a Spanish singer who did his thing that night.
All in all this Noches was great due to HH. Next time I would prefer the bar, but if you have time and want to relax and chill – then a table is fine. Enjoy y'all!
HAPPY HOUR THURSDAY!! WE DRINKING IM THERE (no AAA needed for me). Went to go hang with my fellow yelpy friends for drinks and good times!!! BOY did we have that 😉 The coconut margaritas were nice and subtle that it creep on you (in my biggie smalls voice) and the mango mojito was good as well and could only finish half because the 3 margaritas had feeling good. Tasted the Sangria and that was good too. The food was ok, which didn't make me give 4 stars.
Chicken Wings – Crispy and Crunchy; French Fries – really good!
The service was excellent and the guy was very accommodating, which makes them great. To TOP IT OFF there was KARAOKE…yes KARAOKE in the restaurant, which was so cool. The songs were in Spanish and I know a little bit, but I did want some english songs as well just for entertainment purposes. Overall, the DJ was entertaining and the people who did sing including the veteran LAUREN was really good. Wish he would have played a few more up tempo songs, but had fun overall.
Highlights were the guy promoting his album and singing some of his own songs, my homie Nasha showing the DJ and Entertainment love and getting serenaded too (you to Dalia). Shoutout to Lauren showing her J.Lo skills.
Nice place to chill and hang out and get a good laugh. Didnt try the desserts, but they did look awesome and was told oreo cheesecake was good.
I'd give this place a 2.5.
Went here for my fiance's birthday and we had a table of 9. The hostess was nice and accommodating. As we were seated, things were fine. Our server was helpful.
We ordered mini empanadas for the appetizer and they tasted like they were frozen. 🙁 Definitely not fresh!
I ordered the grilled fish and guess what! They literally forgot my dish! Everyone else at the table got served their entrees except for me! Haha. That was all good and well but the service was overall slow. There was a big lull while waiting for the entrees, as well as dessert and payment of the bill.
I got to try their fried fish too and while it was seasoned well, it was dry and overcooked. Their fries tasted frozen as well.
Also, I ordered grilled fish but it was lightly breaded (?) so that was a bit disappointing since I was hoping for grilled food/something healthier.
Overall, the food wasn't bad but you would be doing a diservice to Colombian cuisine if you kept going to this place. It is so much better and more delicious than they delivered today!
However, shout out to our server who tried his best and also for the fun birthday cake presentation! In the cake (slice), they provide a firework candle and sing/play music! Fried plantains and the salad was good though!
Service was outstanding!!! Sara is definitely an asset. She was very attentive. Victor was very knowledgeable of his menu.
Food was so good while I was eating I was in fantasy land. I didn't hear anything. All the flavored just took over my senses.
Live band was great. He sang a lot of traditional songs.
They also now have outdoor seating.
I would highly recommend this great energy, friendly, and romantic setting. Next time your passing Bayway Street, stop into this restaurant for an great evening with amazing food and drinks.
