“I suspect if they were on 5th or 7th they would get way more business, but they seem to hold their own for at least brunch.”
“It's a plus to have a chill Mexican spot on quietness of 6th Ave. It's only beer and wine as of now, but I heard they might be getting a full liquor license?”
“My fiancé and I stopped in here after parking near by looking for a bite to eat in the neighborhood.”

Update(s): 3.5 stars
1. They are no longer cash only. Credit card minimum is $15, I believe.
2. They do not have, and likely are not getting, a full liquor license. Oh, well.
3. The service is very slow and unresponsive. The past two or three times I've been in there, we have had to ask for water and our drinks 2 or 3 times before we got them. If they are trying to emulate how service works in other parts of the world, most notably in countries that are still developing, they're doing a bang-up job. With no people seated at the bar, and less than half of your tables occupied, there is no reason for such slow service and lack of response to diner requests. Period.
4. Will probably only use them for delivery or takeout from now on.
It's kinda 3.5 stars; but closer to "OK" than "i'm a fan".
There were lots of empty tables about 10pm on Friday night, it's not a buzzing party kind of place. The waitress was lovely and helpful, tho she overlooked the "no onions" request for the salad, she brought an onion-free replacement salad with apologies. My dining companion (who likes raw onions) was cheekily hoping she'd get to keep the wrong one too, but that's not a reasonable request 🙂
The best dishes were the extreme ends of the meal. The chips and dips at the start were fresh with a great selection of salsas. The tres leches cake at the end was wonderful. The stuff between (salads and tacos) were just about ok.
I'd not choose to go back, but if I was taken there again I'd be totally OK giving it another try. That about sums up 3 stars….

Tasty, authentic, modern and uplifted Mexican food in New York? Oh…that's right, I'm in Brooklyn, lol. Yeah, this place is the truth. Haab really makes the best mexican food I've had in New York in a long time.
I recommend trying the Lamb Tacos and Chicken Mole Tacos. And FYI the burritos here are huge, not just filled with rice like Chipotle but filled with all the goodies
The food here is pretty delicious. Everything I had was flavorful and fresh. The only complaint I have is the poor direction on the menu. The "brunch" menu boasts a free drink with purchase, however there's no way to see where "brunch" ends and just regular breakfast food begins. So when my grilfriend and I ordered drinks we thought were included we were charged. When we asked about the free drink inclusion the waiter said "ohh everyone gets confused it only applies to the top portion of the menu". Which i found weird, if everyone gets confused why not do a better job explaining it. However besides that the gaucamole, chilequillas and heuvo's ranchero's were deilicious. I'll be coming back.
Really decent Mexican option in Center Slope! Very excited to see that the defunct Lucky Lou's/Loli's Taqueria is now being operated by the established Haab restaurant. Called in an order and less than 10 minutes later picked up two absolutely enormous, tasty burritos. Particularly liked the Al Pastor. Will definitely try again, perhaps next time in person. They are apparently also open for breakfast.
