This is a very convenient place for lunch. The décor is not bad either, with a little sushi bar in the back. Service is pretty good, and the menu has a good variety ranging from noodles to sushi to your classic Bento boxes for a great deal.
I got the Tonkatsu Bento box, which is fried pork cutlets with that special BBQ sauce and plenty of rice. It also came with miso soup (not too salty), shumai (you have choice of gyoza too), California roll, and a salad. It's pretty standard, but it's for under $10. The cutlets were slightly overdone, but not bad. My friend got the Tofu teriyaki bento box, which looked pretty good. She was also able to substitute the California roll for a vegetable roll for $2 extra.
one of my favorite places to order for work lunch. This place is actually pretty good for the price you pay. I usually order the lunch special bento boxes or sushi rolls. Your order usually comes out within 15 mins. You can usually get a seat during lunchtime and they also do a ton of deliveries.
Ordered lunch delivery since I had a busy day at work.
Any Three Roll Lunch Special was $10.95, which ended up being $11.95 because one roll had eel. That made me feel some type of way, also they only provide soup OR salad, not both as most sushi places do just FYI.
Miso Soup: same as everywhere
Spicy Tuna: didn't taste like anything
Eel Avocado: didn't taste like anything, kept falling apart
Shrimp Tempura: saving grace of the meal. It was crunchy but saucy and DELICIOUS.
I shoveled the poorer rolls in my mouth so I could savor the tempura roll taste. I'd get that roll again but don't know about the rest. Spicy Tuna and Eel Avocado are the basics and those were misses, so I probably won't try again.
Lightning fast service. 1/2 an hour and we were in and out for lunch. Servers are quick and sharp.
I ordered the shrimp teriyaki bento box- comes with salad, shumai, cali roll, huge prawn shrimp, rice, and miso soup.
Friend had the crispy spicy salmon roll and yellowtail- both were delish. He did go on about how sushi rice should be vinegared in traditional japanese fashion, but I didn't care too much cuz its still tasty. I mean, you walk in knowing its an americanized sushi spot owned by Chinese people- I know to manage my expectations. lol
Unlike Matsu, everything isn't overly salty. I didn't walk out feeling gross. Flavors were well balanced. I think this is my go-to sushi spot when I'm feeling lazy/ not in the mood to walk more than 2 blocks from work/apt. haha
PS- there are 2 TVs in the restaurant to keep you entertained if you're dining solo 🙂
Came here with my bro during our lunch break! It was alright. It's very close to all the hospitals so I can see it as a popular lunch option for hospital employees. There weren't that many people eating inside when we went but that's probably because we arrived pretty early. Service was very nice and attentive. Decor looked pretty nice but the music was weird lol…
I got the Snow White roll and a Spicy tuna roll and I found both of them to be pretty good. Regular rolls rarely make a big impression on me but the special roll did have a pretty tasty sauce on it! A little over $20 (tax and tip included) for both rolls, which I would say is a standard price. My bro got the Beef teriyaki bento box lunch special. It looked pretty good and was $12 (tax and tip included), which again is standard. Overall experience here was nice. I would come back again in the future during my lunch breaks from work.
First time visiting Bamboo even though I've lived and worked a block from it for almost a year now. The lunch special prices (both sushi roll specials as well as bento specials) are a ~$1 more than that at Matsu. Tastes are comparable. Service is comparable. Bamboo is definitely brighter than Matsu by design of the restaurant layout. Our food was served quickly and our meal was pleasant. I would give it a 3.5, really, but since the price isn't as competitive as I would like, it gets a 3.
We were shopping nearby and as we were passing this restaurant it appealed to us for dinner. As usual I first checked Yelp and realised this restaurant is not listed. So we went to try it. I ordered chicken Katsu bento box with side salad. It was amazing… Quality and quantity came together here. Obviously this didn't go down well with wife who was planing for a light dinner. My wife ordered Godzilla roll and being a good husband I naturally fulfilled my duty of tasting her food. It was fresh and amazing salmon and avocado roll. Service was also top notch. Our glasses were never empty… (Which may mean I will be having fun during night as I drank a gallon of water there) oh, and they bring hot wipes at the beginning. Final point: my wife surrendered and agreed to fried banana and with a bit of convincing also we added green tea ice cream… It was fanatic. The combination is magical. I highly recommend Bamboo sushi and will go back for sure
After not eating for 14 hours because of surgery, I woke up from anesthesia craving sushi. Close to the hospital, I hopped over and fulfilled that fishy desire. Been here many times and its a fave spot for fresh sushi, nice atmosphere and relaxing. Service was fast and attentive, as usual. Sat by the window, people watching while sipping my wine. We ordered a lot!
*Apps- eddamame, rockshrimp tempura- both YUMMY! accidentally ordered a tempura app which was tempura covered broccoli which was new to me and good, shrimp was good, didn't like the tempura potato slice nor mushroom. interesting concept though.
*ROLLS: spicy tuna crunch, rock shrimp roll, shrimp mango, salmon avocado and LOBSTER roll. All were SO good. fresh. makes my mouth happy.
*Dessert my gf had green tea ice-cream and liked it.
Ill be back, crutches and all!
