Anchor Wine Bar
“Excellent happy hour selection, so many delicious entrees, and an ambiance to die for.”
“That said, I am here regularly, and if I'm in Hamilton Heights, it's exactly the kind of restaurant that makes this area so cool.”
“Living in Harlem I've always found it to be uniquely social, so i often end up chatting with neighbors at the communal bar table.”

I'm so glad this restaurant exists in this neighborhood! Came here starving for brunch with a friend, and BOY we were not disappointed. I ordered an omelette with tomatoes and mozzarella and I was in BRUNCH HEAVEN.
From the taste to even the presentation, everything was wonderful. It even was able to fill me up, coming with a side salad, bread, and potatoes. Like yes. It was my kind of brunch.
The staff is friendly and the restaurant gives off a rustic, cool vibe. I cannot wait to come back and try the wine.
Congrats, Anchor, you've been upgraded (this is rare for me).
I actually have grown to really enjoy you. A quick ride up from work and I can get nice pasta, good bruschetta, great drafts and pleasant service. The area has changed a lot in the last couple of years… and you've definitely started to shine over the others.
Still going strong: the linguini with meat sauce, the small plates, the branzino, and the beer and wine.
See you all again soon.
Visited a friend in the area and went to Anchor for dinner. I hadn't done any research on restaurants in the area, but I'd heard that this was one of the better ones.
Anyhow – we ordered the burrata (mozzarella + prosciutto) and gnocchi.
The burrata was delicious – especially with the balsalmic glaze! The gnocchi was also delicious – it was simple but good.
The service was good as well – they were attentive and checked in a good amount (but not an excessive amount).
Overall, I enjoyed eating here and would go again if I'm in the area!
Came here on a Sunday for dinner with my dad.
Ambiance: We arrived early, at 5:15 and it was pretty empty but by 6:30 the place was pretty packed. Place reminds me country house with a wine vineyard feel to it. Crowd was hipsterish.
Service: Our waitress was extremely friendly; she seem a little new but still did a pretty good job.
Food: We had the Bruschetta Toscana; I was so hungry I didn't even realize it was liver pate lol. Thankfully, it was good even if you've never had liver, I encourage you to venture out. The bread they give you for the table tastes so fresh, we asked for seconds. My dad ordered the Cornish hen and it was tasty. I ordered on the special of the night, fusilli pasta with calamari and mushroom. For an extra $3 they added sauteed spinach. It was yummy but wished it had more calamari.
For dessert, we tried the Tortatino (spell?) a la cioccolato, which was a molten lava cake and the mouse a la cioccolato which was like a very thick chocolate mousse. The lava cake took a while to come out but it was amazing. I suggest you order it with ice cream if available. The mousse was pretty good as well.
Price: Our food plus two glasses of wine was $85.
I would love to return for brunch or happy hour.
Ambiance is adorable. Pasta was just okay. We had the gnocchi and the fettuccini with meat sauce. Fettuccini is made from scratch gnocchi is not. . Both pasta sauces needed more work. I'm surprised the gnocchi is one of their most popular dishes since the sauce was so undeveloped.
But the wine was fantastic (Pinot neru) and the rare steak appetizer was well worth the visit.
I would just skip on the pasta next time.
Venue: (4/5) very cute restaurant. Dimly lit indoors and there is a patio outside for nice weather and dogs. Good for dates, groups, and friends.
Food: (5/5) meatballs and eggplant Parmesan were fantastic. The eggplant was the best I have ever had.
Burrata (3/5) meh. At 17 dollars this is better in other places
Service (5/5) attentive and sweet.
Fantastic gem of a place. Highly recommend.
This neighborhood is getting better with food!
This place is amazing. the way it is set up is great. Very friendly setup for socializing with drinks as you can stand around the bar and talk.
the restaurant is set up great as well. very romantic setting and cool with the bottles all over and decor.
I got the gnocchi and i cant wait to get back and have more! The steak was very good as well.
i heard the brunch is fun and I will go and check it out! Bon appetite!
I had the lamb chops, and my partner had the T-Bone steak. The lamb chops were excellent, although the portion was only two lamb chops. It was served with green beans and roasted potatoes.
The dinner was excellent, and my partner's T-Bone steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned. We also had a bottle of Pinot Noir at the waiter's suggestion. We had fast and friendly service. Will definitely return.
