  1. I've been to Cielo twice now for corporate lunches, and have fond memories of both occasions.  When you walk in the restaurant, the large bar area is straight ahead and the dining room is to the right.  The bar is very large with plenty of seating and small tables around the edge of the room.  The dining room looks about the same size as the bar with regular tables and tables with bench seating along the side.

The first time we went, our office was having its annual pre-holiday luncheon.  Our group ended up being about 18 people. They pushed several tables together along the side of the dining area to accommodate us. Our meal consisted of a salad course, a pasta course, entrees, and a dessert tray. I was not involved in negotating the rate for our meal, but I understand that it was very reasonable. I can't attest to everyone else's meals, but I can say that mine was delicious. I started off with the arugula salad. The portion size was just right considering how much additional food we would be consuming. The greens were lightly dressed but still had a lot of flavor. Next, I had the penne vodka. Delicious!  The sauce was creamy but still light and the pasta cooked al dente.  My entree was arctic char with white beans and spinach. Very flavorful and light, and the portion size was very generous. The dessert tray looked amazing, but the kid who can't taste sweet didn't partake (insert sad face here).

My second experience was my boss' anniversary luncheon.  Again, we had about 18 people in attendance.  We ended up at the same group of tables.  We had yet another pre-arranged menu for a great price, and no one left disappointed. This time around, I went with the field green salad. I picked the bleu cheese out of it, but the rest was divine. I love pears, and these played off nicely against the candied walnuts and citrus dressing. Instead of a pasta course, we were given a choice of soups this time. I could not resist the pasta fagioli. I use ditalini when I make my soup, but they opted to use angel hair in theirs. Still, the soup tasted great and made me even more excited for my entree – linuini with red clam sauce. I liked that their sauce was very light and fresh, more brothy than anything, but still with a lot of flavor.  The clams were moderate sized and cooked just right. Nothing was chewy or gritty, so they must know what they're doing in the kitchen.  We brought our own cake this time, and our server kindly cut it up and served it.

While I've never had a "regular" dining experience here, I can say that Cielo does do a very good job in working with you when you book a private party with them. They adjust their pricing based on what options you want to offer your group, and their staff does a fantastic job of making sure all your needs are met during your meal. The food was very good and the portion sizes were quite generous. I'm looking forward to having a chance to go back here for a non-corporate event so I can try more of the menu!

  2. This restaurant is very nice!  The decor is cozy and the people were very attentive and friendly.  The food was very good. My wife and I had homemade orecchiette pasta which was quite good.  We had a seafood salad which was also fresh and light (it was supposed to have scungilli but I guess they ran out).  The groupon made it a good deal.  I do wish they didn't make me pay ten dollars for a bowl of plain spaghetti for my 5 year old.

    Overall

I would recommend this restaurant, very nice staff, great decor, and really good food

  3. This is the second time coming to Cielo. The first time is was amazing. We throughly loved every thing ate. The service (Frank was our waiter) was impeccable. It was a great slow paced, enjoy your company kind of dinner.

We came back last night. The service was on point, however we weren't as impressed with our food. For an appetizer, we had the Rock Shrimp. It was ok. But just ok. I wasn't impressed and wouldn't order it again. For our meals, we ordered the special veal wrapped lobster tails and veal piccata. I loved the veal piccata and would absolutely order it again. His special however did not taste nearly as good as it sounded. The lobster was almost flavorless and the veal was tough, almost overlooked.

We let our waiter know and he was very apologetic, offered a new meal of our choice and took it off the bill.

The service made up for our not best food.

Well be back, overall we still like Cielo a lot.

  4. This place executes great Italian (American) classics, authentic dishes, and some new ones. Don't skip out on the sheeps milk ricotta or any pasta with guanciale. I've been here a few times with family or just my girlfriend. The first time we had the inside out meatball…nothing spectacular. Service was a little off on Sunday (10/13) and they were out of quite a few things. My advice: enjoy this place Monday-Saturday.
