  1. I ordered take out from Jin again a couple of days ago. I got the chicken teriyaki lunch special with brown rice and a salad. It was even better than the first time! Definitely a favorite place of mine.

  2. I've ordered sushi from here back when it was Sango sushi, and a couple of times after it became Jin. It was never really anything spectacular, but just good, cheap sushi for when you're craving sushi, but don't want to break the bank. So for price, it's not really fair to complain about the quality of the fish. It's deffo not going to be high grade sushi.

But each time I come, it seems like the quality just worsens (which is why I've decided to finally write a review on this place). I ordered some pretty standard rolls – Alaska, salmon, tuna. They all had this weird aftertaste. Almost like vomit! I don't think it went bad but I think if they would have tried to serve it the next day, it deffo would have been spoiled fish.

I also ordered some white tuna sashimi and the pieces were ridiculously thin. It was the same thickness as their sushi pieces, which is a no no.

Another thing I've noticed is that their rice is either really mushy, or kind of hard. It's like they don't know how to cook rice over there. But at least the rolls aren't overly rice-y.

I won't be coming back here. I'll just stick to Nagoya. It's too bad – I really wanted to like Jin since it's right next to the train station!

  3. I ordered delivery from this place and my food was not good. The fried roll I got had the rice on the outside of the roll and frying it just made it fuse together into one salad chunk. Also, the inari sushi I got was not made correctly. The rice was not placed inside the fold of the inari instead they literally just place the skins on top of the rice and placed seaweed to hold it together. The one thing that was okay was that my order was delivered on time. Overall I'd say it was a bad experience.

  4. Not impressed. I ordered take out from here for lunch twice and was disappointed both times. The first time I got the Chicken basil fried rice lunch special and while $9 (including tax and delivery tip) for an entree, 2 spring rolls, and a soup may seem worth it, the food just didn't taste authentic. The basil fried rice tasted like Chinese take out fried rice with a few basil leaves thrown in. The chicken was dry and flavorless. Spring rolls tasted Americanized but the miso soup was ok. I got the Beef spicy basil noodle lunch special the next day and it tasted all wrong. While it was spicy, the flavor was off and the noodles were the ones you use to make Chinese chow fun…

The lunch specials are pretty cheap and come with a good amount of food but the food itself is not authentic at all. The flavors and textures were just completely wrong. There aren't that many other options nearby so I would say to order from here if you're just looking for a cheap and filling meal and aren't too picky in terms of the taste.
