Taqueria Diana
“The rajas, jalapeños, cheese, black beans, guacamole layered between house made chips made for one of the better plates of nachos I've had in the city. .”
“For tacos- I did a variety of the porks- pastor and carnitas- as a Mexican buddy of mine visiting from LA said "carnitas are hard to get right, especially for a white boy, and these are on point".”
“I love snagging a seat by the window to eat ( fabulous spot for people watching on 6th Ave).”

I was coming out of yoga class when I saw this little shop, and decided to have a taco. No guilt post workout! The first thing I noticed was the amount of sauce options- hot sauce is my jam. I use it on everything- it's so addicting. So when I saw two guys sitting there with a stack of hot sauces, I knew I could get a lot of spice for my buck. I ordered a Rajas Taco; the vegetarian one. It had sour cream, beets, peppers, onions. It was pretty good, the outer shell was made of what looked like buckwheat flour- no generic corn shell. I stacked up on a hot sauce of every flavor to bring home as well. (Yes I mainly came here for the sauce).
Honestly, this place sucks! I had to run an errand in the area and decided to grab lunch here – big mistake! I KNEW I should have gone with my first instinct and gone to Hummus & Pita Co – damnit to hell! Anyways, I thought this place looked cute so I decided to give it a try and got the salad w/ carne asada. Bland to say the least, and to make things worse, they forgot the effing dressing! The meat is flavorless – all I can taste is burnt. Even the hot sauce sucked!
Service was quick – but it should have been considering there were only 2 others in line at prime lunch time in NYC. That should have been my first clue.
I don't think I'll be back!
The Quick: Disappointed in the quality of food, especially since cashier was extremely friendly and nice. Seems like a cool spot with great salsa options. That being said, the taco was inedible. The tortilla shell was stale and resembled cardboard while the meat was too salty.
Tacos, Average. Service, slightly below average. Atmosphere, average. Nothing completely great about this place.
I happened to be in the area and was starving for something flavorful. So of course, tacos! This place looked promising, so I decided to check it out. I ordered two tacos, which surprisingly came out to over $10. A little disappointed, but set my expectations pretty high for good tacos.
Overall, the tacos I ordered were just…meh. They drowned it with sauces and spices, which made the taco shell really wet and soggy after a while. The meat was flavorful, but nothing too special. Not sure if I'll go back, but If I do, I'll make sure to ask for less sauce.
We had them delivery to us here at work as it was for a lunch meeting. Went with pork and chicken, beans, rice, various sauces, and the onions and peppers with corn. Everything was served and put together nicely in large trays with ample amounts of tortillas to go around to make tacos.
The pork was tender and flavorful and matched up well with the fresh roasted onions and peppers with corn that had a nice char to it. Mixed with the wonderful rice and beans and great green sauce it made great tacos. Their nachos were also wonderful. Crispy nachos with beans chicken and melted cheese. Every chip had some ingredients. It's one of the best nacho chips in the city. Thick but super crunchy and right amount of salt. Great spot for tacos and for delivery for parties.
Meh.
I came here for a quick lunch by myself and ordered a chicken burrito. It was average sized, the service was awful (the employee was not friendly at all and I feel like I had to really push just to order a burrito…) and the flavor was not that strong. Everything just turned into bean mush in a few bites. Honestly, even Chipotle is better in my opinion. And for $10, it's a hefty price for a mediocre burrito.
Go somewhere else.
Oh wow, i have never paid 9 dollars on a simple salad for lunch and tasted such nothing… Are they serious?
I ordered the salad with rajas (vegetable)
The dish barely has anything but romaine lettus and bunch of mushy bland a little spicy onion/jalapeño.
It also took then 10 minute to make it while there was barely any customers.
Wow- now i have to go get another lunch because i can not take another bite into this bland spicy THING.
Unbelievable. I have had bad food but this is a little ridiculous.
Came w/ a coworker around 12:00 PM on a Wednesday to order take out. I was really excited since my coworker kept saying their tacos were really good but I must confess – I had a so so experience (hence the 3 stars).
There was no line at all when we strolled in. I ordered two tacos – Al Pastor and Carnitas and a bottled drink. My bill came out to be a little over $10.00 which is not too bad. The Al Pastor is a mouth watering spit-roasted spicy pork and the Carnitas were pork slow cooked in milk and beer. I definitely prefer the Al Pastor more. The Carnitas had a weird bitter taste to it – not a fan. I like how they sprinkle cheese over the two tacos but it still lacks a bit of flavor. I'm surprised at how lacking the flavor was considering how drenched in sauce the tacos were.
The service here is so so as well. The female cashier taking the order didn't seem like she enjoyed doing her job.
Overall, okay price for a VERY average tasting taco. Not sure if I will be back though…
