Negeen is a nice little place in downtown Summit that gives you a really good bang for your buck in a great taste. It was both mine and my wife's first venture into Persian food, and we left with a solid first time experience.

I got the chicken with rice, and it was done very well. Spiced well with a really nice flavor, and a really good portion size. The staff had excellent service (refilling waters, asking if everything was good, etc…) The price was also right for a meal like this – it's a good bargain! Granted, if you get appetizers, it will be a bit more, but not much.
Food is ok. Service is terrible. Watch out on groupons, they add all types of fees there and tip is automatic by them. Very small portions. Try another place for persian food.
My boyfriend and I headed to Negeen around 8pm on a Friday night after I had purchased a Groupon for $20 for $40 worth of food. When we arrived, only a few of the tables were taken, one by the owner and his family. The owner sat us at a tiny table that was literally 2 inches away from the table of a family of four. The family expressed their need for space and I also asked for a more spacious table with some more privacy, to which the owner replied that it was his restaurant and because it was a Friday night, he had to save the tables for other guests, because we're not guests or anything. I made a reservation and didn't think to say anything at the door since it obviously wasn't crowded but mentioned it when I again asked for a better table. After much back and forth and an unneeded headache, I closed the menu and was standing to leave when he finally allowed us to sit at another table- not sure why I had to beg when through out the duration of our 45 minute stay, at least 4 tables were consistently empty.
Anyway, when my fuming was just about to subside from the above-mentioned incident and my shock of being treated so poorly, I had to listen to the couple at the table in front of us argue about the use of the Groupon; the owner was being unnecessarily rude. Dude- if you don't want to honor Groupons, then don't do the deal. If it weren't for Groupon, that couple and myself would never have learned about your restaurant and perhaps if you were a little more hospitable and respectful, we would come back.
The food was okay; my boyfriend had the lamb chops and I had the boneless chicken kabob. But in all honesty- why would I come back here when the owner doesn't value his customers and makes them feel so unwelcome and uncomfortable? There are several other restaurants with similar cuisine that I would much rather go to. I should have read the reviews before purchasing the deal, especially the 40 mysteriously "not recommended" reviews.
Came for an engagement party and tried multiple small dishes of appetizers and wines to pair. Very flavorful food, attentive staff, and great company! Would like to come back on a regular night, not when its closed for just our party, to be able to give a review more relatable to the everyman who comes here for dinner =)
We have considered this place several times. However Italian always won out before. Tonight I was in the mood for Mediterranean, but the closest place was a bit far. Soooo my husband suggested we go here. It was really good. The eggplant paste (forgot name) app was delicious. My chicken kebab was quite tasty. The price was very reasonable. The place lost a star for slow, inconsistent (even during one meal, kinda weird) service
This place has the potential to be good. It's a cozy little place with authentic decor. I don't think there is another Persian grill in the area.
Some of the food we ordered was very good, while others fell a bit flat. The hummus is good and so is the eggplant appetizer. The vegetarian stew, however, was bland. It was quite small – more like an appetizer – and I think it only had three pieces of vegetables in it. Overpriced for the quality and presentation.
One thing I found off-putting was the sound of the microwave every few minutes. Beeping, doors slamming. I understand that things get reheated but perhaps they could be more quiet and discreet about it. The service also was a bit odd. Not rude exactly, but indifferent. You felt awkward asking for a glass of water.
I wouldn't go out of my way to revisit.
this is a nice little restaurant in Summit. Ambience is very cozy and warm.
We went on a wednesday night around 7:30pm. only a few people there. Our server was as young as likely legally possible and knew next to nothing about the menu. He was nice, however, but pretty much useless as a servers.
We ordered the 3 plates of appetizers (hummus, eggplant, mixed pickles served with Labash). Hummus was pretty good, the other 2 were average.
My wife is a vegan and they didn't have much on the menu for her. They gave her some grilled vegetables with rice. She pretty much hated her dish and unfortunately they charged her for 2 separate items (vegetables were labeled as a salad at 10.95 and rice was at 9.95).
My dish was Chicken kebab with Rice. It was decent, tho nothing spectacular. Chicken was well prepared and tender. The basmati rice was fragrant, but no seasoning whatsoever (not even a hint of salt). However at 15.95, not a bad price. However now you will understand why I was upset at the pricing of my wife's dish.
Spent about $65 including tip. It was BYO which was nice.
We won't be back.
Was really pleasantly surprised by this place, since the reviews I read before were not the best
I had the pleasure of coming here for a party where they closed out the whole restaurant for the occasion.
I really liked the setup of the restaurant, felt very intimate and authentic.
I can't judge the service since it was obviously good for us because we had a closed off party.
However the food we ordered was the same food they had on the menu, and I enjoyed all of it.
The appetizers were all fresh and flavorful.
I usually am not the biggest fan of stuffed grape leaves, but I couldn't stop telling my gf how much I liked theirs.
They also gave us this goat cheese, mint, raddish and nut platter which we used to make little sandwiches with the hot lavash, and it was so damn good
We ordered one of the stews, and it was very reminiscent of the creamy beef I tried at Baluchi's, which is one of my favorite dishes.
And last but not least, all the meat was very fresh and cooked medium and juicy, and served with a side of well cooked rice.
If i happen to ever be in Summit for some crazy reason, will definitely come back here.
