I ordered for delivery from this sushi place because of the great reviews I saw on yelp.
The delivery was on time and the app I ordered through was very efficient.
I ordered three rolls a miso soup and a Kani salad. The Kani salad and the miso soup were good. The three rolls I got were okay. They weren't to die for nor would they ever be my first choice. The fish wasn't fresh and the sushi tasted quite old.
I wouldn't order from here again nor would I recommend it.
The fact that everything near us was closed on Easter had us venture a little further out.
Glad we did, because Sushi You was fantastic. Those that greeted us were in high spirit which is always something that makes a dine in experience great.
They're three roll lunch special for $12 comes with miso soup. The fish was definitely fresh. We came here early enough to actually see the sushi chef cut into the whole salmon.
Affordable sushi and reasonable decor that wont break your wallet. I think this place is best for lunch. The servers are very friendly as far a cooked food try the artic char, a broiled piece of fish that comes on the bone, so tasty, a bit salty but delicious.
The only worthwhile sushi spot in range of my Seamless app when I'm home. (Because let's be honest – some nights, you just really don't want to cook, buy groceries, or leave the comfort of your house in general.) I've ordered their 3-roll lunch special combo several times because it's a solid deal, but the miso soup could use more flavor and the avocado is always too ripe. Given the vast number of Japanese restaurants near Bayside, I would not come to Sushi You for a sit-down meal but delivery/takeout can be a super quick and convenient option.
Finally decided to give this place a try and was highly disappointed in the sushi. Had the sexy girl roll, rainbow roll, handsome boy roll and California roll. First, the regular rolls only come in 6 pieces: not a deal for its price, compared to other places. And the more special rolls- not impressed. It's decent I guess but I think it's worth the extra drive down to Sushi Bell.
Wow! I am thoroughly impressed with this "hole in the wall "sushi restaurant. Bayside is known for its ubiquitous Sushi joints, however, this small spot serves some serious sushi.
I went with the sashimi lunch special. It came with six gigantic pieces of delicious and fresh fish. It also came with a soup or a salad. $8.95 is a fantastic deal for the amount of food you receive.
I also ordered some uni, yellowtail and tamago.
The uni was delicious and creamy and rich. The yellowtail was robust and full of flavor. The tamago was on par with some of the best sushi joints I have ever gone to. I highly recommend you order several pieces of it.
In addition, the place is warm and welcoming, the beers and Saki are inexpensive and the service is friendly.
Sushi You is one of the many non-authentic Japanese sushi restaurants that actually makes good sushi rolls and is not mostly rice. Ordering is convenient via the EAT24 online service where you can schedule the pickup time.
Even though the restaurant is two miles away from home, I've ordered take-out (mostly sushi/sashimi) from Sushi You a few times already without complaints.
Though I've never dined at the restaurant, I'd give Sushi You four yelp stars for their sushi rolls and the convenience of ordering take-out online.
For some odd reason, whenever I get home after a trip, I crave cheap sushi!
After going on a week long business trip in Knoxville, TN and enjoying all sorts of seafood, grits, and BBQ, my body needed a cleanse.
Sushi is my go-to meal when I need something light. I went on yelp and ordered from the website and it was super easy to place my order in the convenience of my home w/o having to wait at the restaurant (tho I still waited for about 10 min).
I got there 15 minutes after I placed the order ~9:10pm. You can check the status via the Eat24 link but it just counts down from the max ready time (it was 10-30min for my order). It wasn't ready yet. Waited about 10 minutes and she gave me my carry out order. It was easy and convenient. There were still 2 tables and a couple of take out/delivery orders.
I got 3 rolls for $12.99 – spicy salmon, spicy tuna and avocado salmon rolls (my favorite combo) + california roll $3.50. Not a lot of rice (great!), a few crunchy bits in the spicy rolls (not necessary IMO but I will tolerate it), and didn't taste spicy to me but looked like your typical spicy rolls with the minced fish. I did see some chili flakes tho. As I was eating the spicy rolls, i remember thinking to myself "hey… I actually had to chew a bit!!" Some places mince up the fish so well that it's a mushy mess. I kinda like that there are some 'chunks'. The 3 roll combo comes with either soup or salad. Salad had 3 slices of cucumbers, lots of lettuce and the typical ginger salad dressing. It was pretty good. I would skip the california roll next time. It was ok, but not great.
Total came out to be ~$18 after tax and i paid via credit card in the ordering system before the order can be placed.
This will be my go to place for cheap sushi when I am in Fresh Meadow.
